Description
Marshall D. Teach, most commonly known as Blackbeard, is a major antagonist in the story and one of the Four Emperors ruling the New World. His background begins as a member of the Whitebeard Pirates, where he served under Portgas D. Ace in the second division. Teach spent years quietly searching for the Yami Yami no Mi, a Logia-type Devil Fruit that grants control over darkness. When he finally located the fruit, he murdered Thatch, the fourth division commander, to take it and then defected from Whitebeard's crew, forming his own pirate band.
His personality is defined by a combination of grand ambition, cunning, patience, and a ruthless willingness to betray anyone for personal gain. He presents himself with boisterous laughter and a jovial demeanor, but this masks a calculating and merciless nature. Teach is driven by a deep-seated desire for power and world domination.
