Description
Marguerite is a young warrior from the Kuja tribe who lives on the island of Amazon Lily, an all‑female society located in the Calm Belt. She is a guardian of the island, part of its defense force, and during the timeskip she becomes a member of the Kuja Pirates. She has short blonde hair, black eyes, and is eighteen years old. Her compassionate and honest nature defines her character; she is inherently kind and willing to help others even when it means breaking longstanding traditions. This trait is most evident when she discovers Monkey D. Luffy collapsed in the jungle after he ate poisonous mushrooms. Despite the absolute rule that forbids any man from setting foot on Amazon Lily, she chooses to save his life together with her comrades Aphelandra and Sweet Pea. Her act of kindness leads to serious consequences: she is accused of breaking the island’s law and is petrified by the Pirate Empress Boa Hancock using the power of the Mero Mero no Mi. Marguerite does not regret her decision, and her sincerity and loyalty are later rewarded when Luffy’s actions convince Hancock to release her and the other petrified warriors. Afterward, she develops a close friendship with Luffy, treating him with genuine affection and respect. She also greatly admires Boa Hancock and remains a loyal subject. In terms of abilities, Marguerite is a highly skilled archer. She wields a bow made from a snake that can stiffen into a weapon, and she is proficient in Armament Haki, which she uses to imbue her arrows with extra power. This makes her a formidable fighter at range. She is also talented at sewing and has a fondness for dumplings. Her development from a curious but law‑abiding warrior into someone who prioritizes compassion over rigid tradition marks a meaningful shift in her worldview. While her role in the overall story is concentrated in the Amazon Lily arc, she reappears as a supporting figure during later events involving the Kuja tribe.
