Description
Huang is a character from the anime and manga series 3x3 Eyes. She is initially introduced as the wealthy widow of a Hong Kong tycoon, whose husband was killed by a demon. After commissioning the demon hunter organization to handle the case, Huang becomes involved with the main characters, Yakumo and Pai, serving as their guardian and benefactor for five years, operating under the title of the organization's owner.

Beneath this human facade, Huang is secretly a powerful demon known as a Shin Ki. Originating from a class of lowly pestilence demons often subjected to persecution, she managed to survive and grow strong over centuries of effort. Her ultimate motivation is to escape her lowly status and achieve immortality. She plans to become an Wu, a type of immortal being created by a Sanjiyan, the three-eyed race to which Pai belongs. After initially planning to serve the demon king to gain this reward, she switches allegiance to Pai's side when a better opportunity appears to present itself.

Huang is a complex figure whose personality shifts dramatically between her two identities. As a human widow, she acts as a calm, elegant, and generous older figure who provides financial and logistical support. However, her true demon nature is ruthless, cunning, and utterly dedicated to her ambitious goal of becoming immortal. This split is so pronounced that other characters and even readers initially suspect she has a dual personality or is possessed by a different entity entirely. She shows a distinct irritation when Pai casually calls her an auntie, becoming angry enough to physically damage her own luxury car at the remark.

Her role in the story is that of a hidden antagonist and a false ally. While officially supporting Yakumo and Pai, she secretly plots to usurp Yakumo's connection to Pai. She reveals her true identity to Pai to gain her trust, then incapacitates the unsuspecting Sanjiyan. Her plan is to have a demon consume the essence that links Yakumo to Pai, effectively killing him, so she can take his place as Pai's immortal servant. This scheme ultimately fails.

Key relationships define her arc. Her bond with Yakumo is pivotal; despite her treachery, he refuses to harm her upon learning the truth, instead showing her unexpected warmth and stating that she is part of his family. This genuine kindness causes her hard-hearted ambition to instantly melt away, leading to a profound moment of self-reflection. She abandons her goal to protect Yakumo, even knowing she is outmatched. Her relationship with Pai is more transactional, as Pai represents the key to her desired power, though she also grows close to the pair during her time as their guardian.

Huang undergoes a complete and final development. Driven by centuries of hardship and scorn, her story ends in a redemptive sacrifice. After realizing the sincerity of Yakumo's familial affection, she chooses to fight the immensely powerful Benares to protect him. She suffers a fatal blow and dies, but her last moments are filled with happiness, as she declares that being called his family was the greatest joy in her long, hard life. Her death also reverses her petrification ability, freeing those she had previously trapped in stone.

In terms of abilities, aside from her long experience and cunning, her primary power is petrification. She can turn living beings, including immortal Wu, completely into stone. This condition is permanent and cannot be healed, as the stone parts do not regenerate even if removed from the body. The only known release for this petrification is her own death. In her true demon form, she also gains physical features such as pointed ears, horns, a tail, and long claws. She possesses significant physical strength, enough to crumple parts of a car with her bare hands when angered.
