Kusuguri Bōzu is a house spirit dwelling in the same apartment as Tatami-chan, announcing himself with the phrase: "I'm Kusuguri Bouzu, the tickle monster!"

He manifests as a small, round creature covered in soft fuzz, bald yet distinguished by white eyebrows and a prominent mustache. His typical attire consists of a black yukata layered with a purple apron, complemented by a cardboard cylinder carried on his back.

Mischievous and perpetually playful, Kusuguri Bōzu revels in laughter and pranks, frequently inciting chaos for Tatami-chan and fellow apartment dwellers. Despite this, he displays unwavering loyalty to friends, aiding other house spirits when necessary. He actively avoids negative emotions and responsibility, channeling his energy toward pursuing excitement, novel experiences, and personal enjoyment, which fuels his enthusiastic and creatively inventive nature.

He shares a close bond with Tatami-chan, often joining her in mischievous escapades. While his pranks occasionally target her directly, his underlying devotion drives him to provide emotional support during her moments of distress. His popularity has inspired merchandise including plush toys, stickers, and keychains.
