Description
Priscilla S. Asagiri, commonly known as Priss, is a central character in the anime Bubblegum Crisis. She is a nineteen-year-old member of the Knight Sabers, a vigilante team that fights rogue androids called boomers, and she also works as the lead vocalist of an underground hard rock band named Priss and the Repliocants. Priss lost her parents in the Kantō earthquake of 2025 and spent a gloomy childhood in an orphanage without anyone to rely on. By the age of seventeen she was roaming the darker side of MegaTokyo, performing as a small-time singer at live houses and spending much of her time on her motorcycle. Her boyfriend, the leader of the motorcycle gang she had joined, was assassinated after discovering a secret belonging to a powerful organization, and the AD Police ruled his death an accident. That ruling left her with a deep grudge against law enforcement and a burning desire for revenge, and she set out with a gun to hunt down his killers. Sylia Stingray intercepted her before she could act on that vengeance and recruited her into the Knight Sabers.
In terms of personality, Priss is moody, defiant, and strongly anti-authoritarian. She is generally antisocial and distrustful, keeping most people at arm's length, yet she cares deeply for the few she considers friends. Her rebellious and sometimes reckless nature is tempered by a good heart and a sense of humor, which helps her function within Sylia's demanding and disciplined operation.
