Description
Kelia Dace is a member of the anti-Earth Federation group Mafty, known as Mafty, and is the lover of the organization's leader, Hathaway Noa. Her most significant role is being the direct catalyst for Hathaway’s decision to join the resistance movement, as it was she who inspired him to become a part of Mafty.

In terms of background, Kelia first met Hathaway while he was a university student on Earth. They naturally grew close, and their relationship eventually became romantic. During this time, Hathaway learned that Kelia was an illegal resident living under the threat of the Earth Federation, and he chose to help her, an act that drew him into the orbit of Mafty. Her conviction and alignment with the group's ideology were crucial factors that motivated his turn towards armed rebellion.

Kelia is depicted as a woman with orange hair cut short to ear-length and orange eyes. Her personality is defined by her deep care for Hathaway, which manifests in practical acts of support such as providing him with medicine to stabilize his mind and procuring fresh ingredients. However, as the story progresses and Hathaway becomes more consumed by his duties and identity as the masked rebel leader Mafty Nabiyu Erin, he begins to neglect the personal and human side of his life, including his relationship with Kelia. This growing distance is a source of great emotional stress for her.

Kelia’s primary motivation is her commitment to both the cause of Mafty and her love for Hathaway. The conflict arises when these two aspects come into opposition. As Hathaway prioritizes his mission over their relationship, Kelia finds herself isolated. The situation intensifies with the appearance of Gigi Andalusia. Although Kelia continues to trust Hathaway, she becomes acutely aware of the connection forming between him and Gigi. The resulting stress and jealousy are so profound that she resorts to shaving her head, a drastic physical act that symbolizes her internal turmoil.

Despite her pain, Kelia desires to resolve their problems through communication and attempts to talk with Hathaway. However, her efforts, including the shocking act of shaving her head, inadvertently push him further away rather than bridging the gap. Director Shukou Murase has noted that the relationship between Hathaway and Kelia is effectively over by the time the main narrative of the story begins, and the films depict the final, painful moments of their drifting apart.

Ultimately unable to reconcile with Hathaway, Kelia decides to leave Mafty. She volunteers for a ground mission after speaking with the vice-captain and chief of staff, Iram Masam, effectively choosing to separate herself from the organization and from Hathaway. When Hathaway realizes she is leaving, he gives chase but is unable to stop her departure. This marks the end of her direct role in the story as she chooses her own safety and an uncertain future over her former life. The character does not possess any notable piloting abilities or special combat skills; her importance lies in her emotional connection to the protagonist and her function as the narrative reason for his initial radicalization.
