Description
Nasti Yagyu is a key supporting character in the Yoroiden Samurai Troopers series, later appearing in the sequel Yoroi Shin Den Samurai Troopers. She is of mixed French and Japanese heritage and was visiting her grandfather, Professor Konosuke Yagyu, when the demon lord Talpa launched his invasion of the mortal world. Unlike the five Samurai Troopers, Nasti possesses no mystical armor or superhuman abilities. Instead, she relies on her extensive knowledge of ancient artifacts, mystical armors, and historical lore to aid the warriors. Her role in the original story is that of a researcher, strategist, and caretaker; she provides the Troopers with crucial information, deciphers unknown languages, and acts as a guardian for the young boy Ully, becoming a steady older-sister figure to the group.
Nasti’s personality is marked by patience, wisdom, and a strong sense of responsibility. She is caring and compassionate but also stubborn and headstrong when the situation demands it, often taking the lead in moments of indecision among the Troopers. She demonstrates a willingness to sacrifice herself for her friends, having voluntarily placed herself in danger to allow others to unlock their full potential. Her motivation throughout the series is to protect the world from the forces of evil and to support the Troopers in their mission, drawing strength from her bond with them.
As the story progresses, Nasti matures from a knowledgeable teenager into a capable leader. By the time of the later OVAs, she is in her early twenties and becomes involved in larger geopolitical affairs, attending a United Nations session to reveal the existence of the Samurai Troopers. In the sequel series set thirty-five years later, Nasti Yagyu has become the commander of the Defense Special Task Force (DST), a position that places her in charge of training the next generation of warriors and strengthening defenses against the possible return of the Youja. Her notable abilities are primarily intellectual: she is an expert in ancient languages, armor lore, and tactics, and she serves as the vital human link between the mystical world of the armors and the ordinary world.
