Description
Orsis, whose full name is Orsis Sol Saliente, is the eldest son of the Saliente ducal family and one of the central figures of the story. He becomes the older stepbrother of the protagonist, Alba, when Alba's mother remarries into the ducal household. In the otome game world that forms the setting, Orsis was the favorite character of the protagonist in a previous life, and he is the person Alba has been reborn to protect and adore.

In terms of background, Orsis is the heir to one of the most powerful noble houses in the kingdom. His father, Hals, is the duke, and Orsis is recognized for his exceptional magical talent, his handsome appearance, and his composed, capable bearing. Despite these advantages, his personal circumstances are far from easy. He carries a difficult relationship with his father, and his sense of self-worth is strikingly low, an insecurity that shapes much of his conduct. In the original game, he was also a figure marked by tragedy: the death of his stepbrother Alba was the event that robbed him of his smile and left him emotionally closed off.

His outward personality in the game was that of a cold and unexpressive young noble, but the story reveals this to be a mask born from grief rather than his true nature. In the current timeline, he is kind, gentle, and considerate, yet he struggles with jealousy and inadequacy. When Alba first joins the family, Orsis feels genuine affection for him, but also a resentment close to envy, because Alba easily receives the paternal love and approval that Orsis craves and never seems able to obtain. His calm and somewhat distant manner is therefore a mix of genuine reserve and quiet emotional pain.

Orsis's motivation is primarily emotional rather than ambitious. He is initially bewildered by Alba's intense, almost worshipful devotion, but he gradually warms to it. By continuously receiving Alba's pure and unconditional love, his guarded heart begins to soften, and he starts to respond with affection of his own. His development across the story is about learning to open up, to accept that he is worthy of love, and to trust the people around him. Thanks to Alba's intervention, he is able to escape the lonely and sorrowful path that awaited him in the original game's plot.

His role in the story is that of the beloved elder brother at the center of Alba's doting. Alba dedicates himself to keeping Orsis happy and to rewriting the fate that would have caused Alba's early death and Orsis's subsequent descent into sorrow. Because of those efforts, Orsis's fate is changed for the better, and his relationship with Alba becomes one of the warmest and most important bonds in the series.

In terms of key relationships, his bond with Alba is the defining one. It evolves from polite distance mixed with jealousy into deep mutual protectiveness, with Orsis eventually becoming just as devoted to Alba as Alba is to him. His relationship with his father, Hals, is the most strained of his life, marked by poor communication and feelings of not measuring up, though the changing family dynamics help ease that tension over time. Within the household, he relates to the other members of the ducal entourage from a position of quiet responsibility, maintaining a composed front even when his emotions are conflicted.

Notable abilities include his high-level magical skill, which matches his standing as the brilliant heir of a ducal house and made him such an admired figure in the game world. His calm intelligence and competence are consistent traits, though the story ultimately places far more weight on his emotional growth and his capacity to love and be loved than on his power.
