Hana Danno is a supporting character in Daemons of the Shadow Realm. She operates as a Banshousha, a type of agent working for Higashimura, a village with a deep connection to the shadow realm and its daemons. Her work for the organization involves handling underground errands and disposing of bodies, which speaks to a pragmatic and unfazed attitude toward the darker aspects of her world. As part of her mission to protect the series protagonist, Yuru, she enters into a fake marriage with her partner, Tatera Ryu, also known as Dera, to create a plausible cover story as his wife and Yuru’s guardian in the modern city.

Hana has a petite frame but a formidable and confrontational combat style, often wielding brass knuckles in a fight. Her personality is athletic, straightforward, and candid, with a cool exterior that belies a genuinely warm nature. While she claims to dislike children, her actions consistently show care and protectiveness, particularly toward the young twins associated with her group. As a daemon wielder, Hana possesses a pair of daemons named Jiro and Kotetsu. Jiro resembles a white Shiba Inu, while Kotetsu looks like a cat. Together, this pair is known as Zenko Koro. Unlike many daemons focused on direct combat, Hana’s pair specializes in tracking and intelligence gathering. They have been in her family for generations, which explains their unique familiarity with modern technology; for instance, one of them can navigate digital maps on a smartphone to help locate a target. The pair can also communicate telepathically over long distances, allowing for coordinated search operations. In the story, she is summoned to clandestine meetings of Higashi Village agents, reinforcing her role as a trusted operative in the ongoing conflict involving the Kagemori clan and the shadow realm’s powers.
