Michika Narumi is a first-year high school student attending a different school than the main characters of Ichijyoma Mankitsu Gurashi!. She works part-time at Nekoyumean, a cat café located on the ground floor of the same building as the Hedgehog manga café, which serves as the primary setting for the series. Her deep love for cats shapes much of her personality, which is often described as tsundere—proud, strong-willed, and easily flustered, but with a surprisingly straightforward and naive side that makes her endearing. She initially regards Hedgehog as a rival establishment, but her curiosity about its collection of cat manga eventually overcomes her pride, leading her to become a regular visitor. Within the story, Michika functions as a supporting character whose interactions with the Hedgehog residents, particularly the protagonist Meiko Morita, introduce additional comedic and slice-of-life dynamics. Her motivations revolve around her affection for cats and her desire to bridge her initial rivalry with the café staff into a friendly, if sometimes awkward, coexistence.
