Puriel, usually romanized as Purriel, is a supporting character in Easygoing Territory Defense by the Optimistic Lord. She is an adventurer and a magic-user in the party led by Ortho, serving as the group's water mage and known for her calm and composed manner.

Before coming to Van's territory, Puriel traveled alongside Ortho's adventurer party. During an escort mission, she was moved by the sincerity of Van, the young lord of the frontier village, and chose to settle there instead of continuing her wandering adventurer life. From then on she lends her calm intellect and magical expertise to the territory, taking part in escort duties and contributing to the defense of the growing community.

In personality, Puriel is levelheaded, collected, and polite, especially when dealing with people she does not know well. She is also pragmatic and observant: while leading a caravan of refugees to the village, she reminds her companions to stay alert and keep to their assigned positions, and she deliberately uses a gentle, reassuring tone to encourage frightened settlers. As she spends more time in the community, she gradually becomes less guarded and reveals a more candid and relaxed side, joking with her fellow adventurers and speaking her mind more directly.

Her motivations center on her appreciation of Van's sincerity and the sense of purpose she finds in supporting his settlement. Her key relationships include Ortho, her longtime party leader and traveling companion, and Van, whom she serves and respectfully addresses as Van-sama; she also takes an active role in caring for the refugees and new residents who arrive in the village.
