TV-Series
Description
Suiko Tatsunagi, the composed eldest sister of the Tatsunagi trio alongside Rekka and Kourin, co-manages the PSY card shop and performs as part of the idol group Team Ultra-Rare. She operates calmly behind the scenes, her actions guided by the unique ability to perceive events unfolding on the planets Cray and later Brandt. In the original series, she actively identifies and nurtures individuals with PSY Qualia potential. She gifts Aichi Sendou the "King of Knights, Alfred" card and later presents him with a critical choice between cards of light and darkness; his indecision unexpectedly fuses them into "Majesty Lord Blaster." Suiko is heavily implied to have instigated Ren Suzugamori's initial descent into PSY Qualia a year before the main story, fracturing his friendship with Kai and Tetsu.
During the Asia Circuit, she and Team Ultra-Rare travel internationally as entertainers for the VF Circuit. Suiko wields an Angel Feather deck focused on the Pegasus series and "Chief Nurse, Shamsiel," utilizing defensive tactics and damage zone manipulation. In the Link Joker arc, she attends Fukuhara High School to monitor powerful cardfighters, particularly Ren. Her interactions with Naoki Ishida begin contentiously, leading to two cardfights: she outmaneuvers him tactically in their first encounter but acknowledges his growth upon her defeat in the rematch. During this time, she is forcibly corrupted into a "PSYQualia Zombie," adopting a Link Joker deck and a sadistic demeanor. In this state, she infects Minami Kawanami and Asaka Narumi with PSY Qualia.
Kouji Ibuki later frees her from corruption, but the process severs her connection to Vanguard. Left emotionless, she continues serving the "Destiny Conductor," Takuto Tatsunagi, as a "Called Walker," until her existence is erased from others' memories. She appears as a main character alongside Emi Sendou, Shuka, and Kouji Ibuki in the spin-off "Cardfight!! Vanguard Gaiden: if." Her surname, Tatsunagi (立凪), combines the characters for "standing" and "calm, lull," reflecting her poised nature.
