TV-Series
Description
Hyemon known as Scar is a specific individual of the Beast Digimon species Hyemon who appears as an antagonist in the early episodes of the series. As a member of the Child level, Scar is noted for having a larger and more powerful build than is typical for his evolutionary stage. He is distinguished from other members of his species by a visible scar on his body, which is the origin of his identifier. Scar operates alongside another Hyemon known as Pierce, whom he addresses as a younger brother, indicating a fraternal relationship between the two Digimon. Their behaviors reflect a pack mentality, a common trait of their species, as they work together to hunt for human e-Pulse, the emotional and psychic energy that Digimon in this world consume.

In terms of personality, Scar is portrayed as cunning and aggressive, fully embracing the predatory instincts of his kind. He is bold enough to attack humans directly in their own world, showing a lack of fear or hesitation. Scar appears to be the leader and the more dominant figure of the pair, with Pierce following his lead and looking up to him as a senior brother. His primary motivation is to prey on humans by absorbing their e-Pulse. This act not only nourishes him but also leaves the human victims afflicted with a condition known as Cold Heart, a state of emotional and mental shutdown.

Scar plays a crucial role as one of the first direct threats faced by the protagonist, Tomoro Tenma. In the initial episode, Scar and his brother hunt Tomoro for his unusual e-Pulse. When Tomoro is rescued by his brother Asuka, Scar turns his attack on the rescuer, successfully absorbing Asuka's e-Pulse and causing him to fall victim to Cold Heart. This act becomes a primary driver for Tomoro's initial motivation, as he seeks to find Scar's Sapotama—the device containing the stolen e-Pulse—in order to cure his brother. Scar's actions directly set the protagonist on his path, creating a personal stake in the conflict.

Scar’s most significant relationship is with his brother, Pierce, with whom he hunts. The two Hyemon function as a cohesive unit, with Scar as the more formidable and aggressive partner. His other key relationship is with his prey, particularly Tomoro and Asuka Tenma. As the one who inflicts Cold Heart on Asuka, Scar becomes a direct antagonist to Tomoro, who is desperate for a cure.

In terms of development, Scar’s story arc is abruptly cut short. After surviving an initial confrontation with Tomoro and his partner Digimon, Gekkomon, Scar returns to the fight. When the intervention of the Glowing Dawn organization threatens him, Scar attempts to digivolve, using the e-Pulse he had stolen from Asuka to reach a higher form. However, before he can complete this evolution, he is suddenly attacked from behind by another Digimon, Gokuwmon. Gokuwmon impales Scar and deletes him, ripping the Sapotama containing Asuka’s e-Pulse from his body. This sudden and violent end prevents Scar from realizing his goal of digivolving and removes him as a direct threat, though the consequences of his actions continue to drive the story forward.

As a Hyemon, Scar possesses notable abilities common to his species. He has powerful jaws and sharp fangs capable of chewing through hard substances, including metal. His signature attack is Curse Bite, a gnawing assault that makes full use of his immense biting strength. He can also employ Release Howling, a ferocious roar that temporarily boosts the physical capabilities of nearby Hyemon, enhancing the combat effectiveness of his pack. Furthermore, it is noted that Hyemon have a tendency to store e-Pulse they have collected rather than consuming it immediately, which explains how Scar retained Asuka’s energy and was able to attempt an evolution. No further information on his development or any later return is available.
