Description
Mafuyu Seba is a fourteen-year-old boy who stands at 172 centimeters tall and weighs 60 kilograms, with a birthday on February 22nd and B blood type. His appearance is marked by short, dark hair that covers most of his face, sunken black eyes, and a near-constant use of a surgical mask to protect himself from germs and dirt. He typically dresses in a baggy, long-sleeved black jumper with an open collar and cargo pants.
Mafuyu is defined by his extreme germaphobia, going to great lengths to avoid anything he considers filthy, especially blood, which can send him into a panic. This obsession dictates his fighting style, as he refuses to dirty his hands and instead relies on bladed shoes to fight with his feet. Despite this compulsion, he is a highly skilled and instinctively talented assassin who can remain surprisingly calm in the heat of battle, even when facing death. Personality-wise, he is a mix of cockiness and insecurity, often boasting about his abilities but just as quickly complaining or becoming discouraged when things go wrong. Mafuyu was originally supposed to take the regular entrance exam for the JCC, a school for assassins, but was forced to take the transfer exam after catching the flu from his older brother, Natsuki Seba, a situation he often complains about. His primary motivation for attending the school is not simply to become a licensed killer, but to build the connections necessary to eventually join The Order, the highest rank of assassins. This goal is challenged and refined by his experiences during the exam, particularly through his interactions with Shin Asakura, a fellow examinee who initially defeats him. Shin spares Mafuyu's life and tells him that to reach The Order, one needs strength, not connections, an idea that inspires the younger boy. Throughout the exam, despite frequently insulting Shin by calling him an "old man," Mafuyu looks up to him and is easily influenced by his courage and determination.
