Description
Magoroku Inui is a young chef who works at the prestigious French restaurant known as K in Tokyo. He hails from Kyoto, where he was raised in a family that owns a long-established and high-end traditional Japanese restaurant. His upbringing immersed him in the rigorous techniques and strict customs of Kyoto cuisine from an early age. Despite this deep-rooted heritage, Inui grows increasingly dissatisfied with what he perceives as the suffocating and feudal nature of traditional culinary practices. He craves a broader understanding of food and new techniques, a desire that is ignited after he experiences the cooking of Kai Asakura. This pivotal moment inspires him to leave his family's home and move to Tokyo, defying his father's wishes in order to work at K, a decision that results in him being disowned.

Inui is characterized by a personality that blends respect, earnestness, and a passionate curiosity.
