Description
Kaito Hibiki, an 18-year-old figure, is introduced as a legendary idol who has captivated audiences of all ages on a global scale. Prior to his appearance in the story, he had temporarily paused his performance activities to study singing in New York, demonstrating a commitment to refining his craft. Upon returning to Hanamichi Town, he becomes a regular patron at the local Cafe Glitter, where he encounters the main heroines, marking the beginning of his involvement in the story.

Physically, Kaito is characterized by his tall, slender build, greenish-blue hair, and golden-yellow eyes. His casual attire typically consists of a turquoise short-sleeved shirt worn over a white long-sleeved one, paired with brown jeans. He often accessorizes with a silver chain necklace and a small earring, and uses glasses as a simple but effective disguise to move around in public without being recognized by his massive fan base, known as the "Kai-Pals". This fan base is a testament to his immense popularity and the affection the public holds for him.

In terms of personality, Kaito embodies a calm, gentle, and incredibly supportive demeanor. He possesses a natural intelligence and perceptiveness that allows him to offer insightful guidance to others who are struggling. Despite being a superstar, he is humble and approachable, seeking the peaceful and ordinary atmosphere of the cafe where he can relax. As a professional, he holds the idol profession in the highest regard, believing that an idol's core mission is to create a connection with their audience, leaving them with a feeling of joy and anticipation for their next encounter. This professional pride makes him a candid critic; he does not hesitate to offer direct, constructive criticism to fellow idols, including the main character in her Cure Idol persona, when he believes their performance falls short of this standard.

Kaito's primary motivation and the deepest layer of his character are rooted in his past. He has harbored a passion for singing since childhood, often practicing alone by the sea. His path to stardom was paved by a friend named Kazuma, who pushed him to audition for an idol选拔 alongside him. Their shared dream, however, took a devastating turn when only Kaito passed the audition. While Kaito was thrust into the spotlight, the rejected Kazuma disappeared from his life, leaving Kaito with a profound sense of guilt and an unshakable desire to reconnect with his lost friend. This unresolved conflict becomes the central emotional pillar of his character arc.

Within the story, Kaito serves as a mentor and an inspiring figure to the main heroines, particularly to Uta Sakura, the civilian identity of Cure Idol. He helps her navigate the challenges of idol work, offering advice on handling pressure and discovering one's true dreams, all while being unaware at first that he is also directly mentoring the superheroine Cure Idol. His key relationships are defined by his supportive bond with Uta, which contains hints of a developing romantic tension, and his tragic, yet ultimately redemptive, connection with his former friend Kazuma, who re-emerges as the villainous Jogi.

Kaito's personal development is a journey from a guilt-ridden idol to a proactive hero who confronts his past. For much of the series, he passively carries the weight of his friend's pain, but he eventually takes decisive action. In a climactic moment, he uses the power of his emotions and the song he composed specifically for Kazuma to reach his lost friend, triggering a miraculous transformation into the temporary Pretty Cure, Cure Connect. This transformation is not a permanent power-up but a singular, potent manifestation of his desire to forge a connection and heal a broken relationship. As Cure Connect, he utilizes a purification attack known as Legend Echo to cleanse his friend of corruption and bring about a long-awaited reconciliation. Following this resolution, he decides to return to New York with the redeemed Kazuma to continue growing as an artist, leaving behind the town and the friends he helped inspire.

As a Pretty Cure, Kaito possesses abilities typically associated with purification rather than sustained combat. His only noted skill, Legend Echo, involves generating a swirl of rainbow-colored energy that forms a powerful beam capable of purifying corrupted beings and darkness. This ability is intrinsically tied to his narrative function as a unifier rather than a front-line fighter.
