Description
Nana Aokaze is a second-year student at Hanamichi Middle School, sharing the same class as Uta Sakura. She is known for her skill in playing the piano and is described as a kind and intelligent girl. Nana values what is truly important and is willing to put in great effort for the sake of others, though she initially struggles with a fear of failing to meet expectations and lacks self-confidence. Her motivation to become stronger is sparked by her admiration for Uta's courage, and this resolve leads her to awaken as Cure Wink when Uta is in danger and needs help. Nana is deeply connected to her family, especially her mother, who is a professional pianist living in France. She wholeheartedly supports her mother's dreams despite their physical distance, and her relationship with her father is warm, often shown through moments like cooking together. As an idol-themed Precure, Nana's fan service is the wink, and her transformation phrase is "Blinking with you, the courage of the heart! Eye blinking, Cure Wink!" Her catchphrase as Cure Wink is "One step forward, Win-Win Wink!" In battle, Nana fights with a style that is precise and graceful rather than purely power-based. She excels at barrier techniques, notably using a diamond-shaped barrier to protect her teammates, and also employs a named kick technique. Over the course of the story, Nana experiences significant development as she learns to reclaim her passion for music and rebuild her self-assurance, eventually becoming more confident in her own abilities and her role as an idol. She is also a member of the Idol Pretty Cure Research Club alongside Uta and Kokoro Shigure, and she shares a close bond with both of them, with her relationship with Uta being that of a classmate and trusted friend.
