Liana Owenzaus is a major character in Wistoria: Wand and Sword. She is a graduate of Regarden Magical Academy where she was a sixth-year top-ranked student, often called Miss Perfect or the Perfect Genius for her exceptional magical talent and academic performance. She comes from the knight family of Owenzaus and becomes a High Thunder Mage after being headhunted into the Lightning Faction known as Thorzeus Fasce. Her motivation throughout the story is to become a Magia Vander, the highest rank of mages, in order to restore her noble family from financial and social ruin. Initially, she appears aloof and indifferent toward the protagonist, Will Serfort, but she later allies with him and other classmates to secure her graduation. Liana is a master of lightning magic and also skilled in close combat, wielding a Silverbolt Wand and a Misericorde of the Oath. Her family secret technique is called the Owen Sique. Beneath her composed and elite exterior, she harbors hidden insecurities about her own abilities and a surprisingly gluttonous appetite, particularly enjoying crepes from a specific food cart and stories about the Knight of Reusche. Her role in the series includes serving as the student council president and later as a key member of the Lightning Faction, where she continues to develop her skills and confront her personal challenges.
