Description
Kengo Yozakura is the third son and fifth child of the Yozakura family's tenth generation. As a member of this prominent spy family, he holds the rank of Silver Spy, having obtained his first license at the exceptionally young age of seven. Standing at 166 centimeters tall, Kengo is easily recognized by his short, scruffy blonde hair that typically covers his eyes and a distinctive yellow cat paw print mark on his left cheek. His casual attire often features cat motifs, most notably a black onesie with cat ears and a tail, though after a five-year timeskip he adopts a black tracksuit with yellow stripes while still retaining his cat-ear hat and tail.

Kengo's personality is defined by his status as a hedonistic free spirit who lives by a simple creed: he only wants to do fun things and refuses to engage in anything he finds boring or tedious. This pleasure-first philosophy extends even to his work as a spy, as he will only participate in missions that promise to be entertaining, becoming lazy and unmotivated when forced to do something uninteresting. Despite his laid-back and carefree exterior, Kengo is deeply narcissistic and fixated on his appearance, always taking meticulous care of his skin and looks while seeing himself as the face of the Yozakura family. This narcissism stems directly from his mastery of disguises; the more faces he wore impersonating others, the more he grew to appreciate the unique beauty of his own features, leading to a significant boost in his self-esteem.

However, his focus on appearance serves a deeper purpose rooted in an inferiority complex. Since he cannot fight effectively on the frontlines like some of his siblings, he channels all his energy into maintaining his body as his most vital tool for creating disguises, needing to keep it perfect to help his family. Beneath his cheerful and often comical demeanor, Kengo hides all his negative emotions from his family, always trying to play the role of the harlequin who cheers everyone up rather than burdening them with his pain or frustration. This tendency to conceal his struggles sometimes manifests physically, leading to acne and skin issues. He also finds it difficult to trust people's genuine kindness due to his ability to change his face, voice, and expressions at will, though he acknowledges that truly kind people do exist.

Kengo's role in the story is primarily that of a support specialist and infiltration expert. His extraordinary skill in disguise makes him an indispensable asset for intelligence gathering and creating chaos among enemies. He often takes Taiyo Asano, his new brother-in-law, on missions to teach him the ropes, much to the dismay of their older brother Kyoichiro. His relationship with Kyoichiro is notably antagonistic; Kengo frequently uses his disguise abilities to impersonate their sister Mutsumi to mock and emotionally devastate Kyoichiro, who is obsessively protective of her. In contrast, Kengo shares a close and informal relationship with Mutsumi herself, likely due to their similar ages, and he feels comfortable treating her without formality. He also holds deep respect for Hulang, a Gold Spy who disciplined him as a child and became his teacher; Kengo became her last and best student, idolizing her as time passed.

Kengo's character development is tied to his training and the evolution of his abilities. As a child, he was quite wild in his behavior, leading Rei Yozakura to assign Hulang to discipline him. During a five-year training period, Kengo grew out his hair and abandoned his onesie for a more mature tracksuit. His philosophy of avoiding anything unfun remained, but his skills expanded dramatically. Notably, he learned to hide his negative emotions from his family to maintain a cheerful atmosphere, a choice that reveals his caring nature beneath his self-absorbed exterior.

Kengo's abilities are extensive and center on deception, transformation, and psychological infiltration. He is a master of disguise capable of perfectly replicating another person's appearance, voice, complexion, scent, posture, and even gait, fooling almost anyone including his own family members. He can disguise not only himself but entire groups of people in seconds, creating massive confusion among enemies. His Someinine Blood, a trait of the Yozakura family, drastically increases his physical capabilities, though his primary strength lies in trickery rather than direct combat. His Blooming ability, called Assimilation, allows him to empathize with someone to one hundred percent, completely understanding them and even entering their mind to view their memories. This power makes him an incredibly effective spy, as he can extract information directly from a target's mind.

After five years of training, Kengo achieved True Spring Blooming, an advanced ability named Vainglory. This transformation alters his body, turning him and his clothes white with white flames and granting him six flaming tails. Vainglory allows the cells in his body to perfectly copy different phenomena, essentially letting him shift his body's properties as he pleases. He can transform into various substances including water, which makes physical blows pass through him harmlessly while he fires bullet-like water droplets from his fingertips; electricity, allowing him to emit incapacitating arcs of shock; and rock or diamond, dramatically enhancing his offensive and defensive capabilities to the point of destroying techniques that had remained unstoppable for decades. He also possesses body malleability, enabling him to shape himself into inanimate objects like chairs or alter his body size for seemingly impossible disguises.

Kengo employs various tools and techniques in his spy work. He uses fake skin for his disguises and sometimes employs a sheet to wrap up enemies or create cover. His most notable equipment is Kengo-chan, balloon clones of himself created by Asuka Hatoda that are controlled with microchips and steel spider threads. These clones can create distractions, self-destruct into harmless explosions, form into a giant Kengo for a powerful punch, or even be disguised as other people like Kyoichiro to terrify opponents. Kengo's cat tail, while typically decorative, can also explode to create a smokescreen for escape. His hobbies include yoga, manicures, baths, and skincare, while he loves cats, sushi, sparkling water, and additive-free lotion, disliking only waking up early and sunburns. He grows yellow freesias in the Yozakura Forest, flowers whose language of innocence and strong but ephemeral scent reflect his complex personality.
