Description
Futaba Yozakura is the second child and eldest daughter of the tenth generation of the Yozakura family. She is a highly skilled spy holding the rank of Gold Class. Born on February 2, Futaba is notably petite, standing only 134 centimeters tall, and despite being 20 years old at the start of the story, she possesses a youthful, childlike face that has remained largely unchanged since she was six years old. Her most distinctive features are her long silver hair styled into voluminous curled twin-tails and her choice of attire, a pure white gothic lolita dress which she refers to as her combat suit.

Futaba has a strong and spirited personality, often acting with authority and a high-handed attitude, even toward her eldest brother, Kyoichiro. Despite her small stature and young looks, she typically behaves in a mature and responsible manner, using old-fashioned speech that lends her an air of wisdom and experience. She is strict and can be demanding, but this severity is rooted in genuine care and a deep sense of responsibility for her family's well-being. Beneath her tough exterior lies a kind, nurturing, and compassionate individual who wants the best for her siblings and allies, a softness she often tries to hide.

Her primary motivation is the protection of her family. Because of Kyoichiro's erratic and obsessive behavior, Futaba often steps into the role of the de facto family head, acting as the voice of reason and responsible leader. She harbors a deep-seated fear of losing the people she loves, a trauma that influences her actions. This manifests as an intense, irrational fear of ghosts and supernatural entities, which she cannot fight with her physical martial arts. This phobia is so pronounced that she once destroyed an entire haunted house in a panic. While she is fearless in battle against tangible foes, she is also known to have a wild side, becoming energetic and aggressive if she consumes even a small amount of alcohol. In contrast to her combat prowess, she is poor with technology and hates staying up all night and reading maps.

Futaba plays a crucial role in the story as an authority figure and instructor. When the protagonist Taiyo Asano learns the Yozakura family's secrets, it is Futaba who proposes that he marry her younger sister, Mutsumi. She sees this as a double solution: to protect Taiyo and, more importantly, to help bring Kyoichiro back to his senses. She subsequently takes on a harsh but necessary role as one of Taiyo's trainers, pushing him to become strong enough to survive in the spy world. Her position as a mentor is further solidified when she oversees the second stage of Taiyo's exam to become a Silver-class spy.

Her key relationships are centered on her family. She is the primary figure who can control and put Kyoichiro in his place, often punishing him for his overbearing antics. She is deeply protective of all her siblings, including Mutsumi, Shinzo, Shion, Kengo, and Nanao. Her role as a caretaker is so natural that in later storylines, she even offers to help train the next generation of the family. Despite being an eldest sister, her youthful appearance often creates a visual incongruity with her role, especially compared to her younger brother Nanao, who can freely change his size.

As a character, Futaba has already achieved immense skill from a very young age. She began her training at three, went on her first mission at six, and became the first of her siblings to pass the Silver-class spy exam at eight years old. Development for her often involves revealing her hidden vulnerabilities, such as her fear of ghosts being a mask for her fear of failing to protect her family, and showcasing her growth as a leader and maternal figure. Over the course of the narrative, her role as a supportive older sister and strict but fair mentor remains central to her character.

Her notable abilities are formidable, primarily centered on her mastery of martial arts, specifically Yozakura-style jujitsu known as the Weeping Hand Technique. Despite her small size, she possesses superhuman strength, capable of twirling barbells like nunchucks, tossing enemies great distances, and even stopping a train. Her skills in hand-to-hand combat are such that she boasts a one hundred percent win rate against her older brother Kyoichiro if she is able to grapple him. As a member of the Yozakura family, her body contains the unique protein Someinine, which grants her enhanced physical capabilities. Her personal Blooming ability, a power unique to each family member, is called Magnanimity or Embrace. This technique allows her to use her aiki to absorb, neutralize, and even erase a wide range of attacks, from physical strikes and explosions to heat and gases. She can also redirect this absorbed energy into a powerful counter-attack. In her free time, she enjoys sewing and calligraphy, and her favorite foods include green tea and ohagi, or sweet rice cakes.
