Description
Sasaki, a middle-aged office worker trapped in monotony, adopts a Java sparrow named Peeps—later revealed as Piercarlo, a reincarnated sage from another world. This encounter unlocks magical abilities and inter-world travel, transforming his existence.

Seeking companionship, he forms a pact with Peeps centered on mutual comfort and financial stability through cross-world trade. He exchanges modern Japanese goods for resources like gold in the fantasy realm, aiming to fund a peaceful life with luxuries such as Kobe beef. His personality blends maturity, politeness, and compassion, resolving conflicts calmly. He demonstrates empathy by regularly feeding Otonari, a neglected neighbor, and aiding French, an unjustly fired chef, by funding his restaurant.

A past experience contracting chlamydia from a brothel visit instills caution around women, leading him to prioritize work and food over romance. This wariness extends to interactions, including rejecting advances from Shizuka Futari due to her childlike appearance and hesitating regarding marriage proposals involving younger individuals like Elsa.

His abilities, taught by Peeps, include flight, healing, defensive barriers, energy beams, and elemental magic like ice projectiles. He exhibits rapid magical aptitude; his mana elevates him to "Higher Being" status in the other world, extending his lifespan. After rescuing Hoshizaki using ice magic during a psychic battle, he is forcibly recruited into the government's Paranormal Phenomena Countermeasure Bureau. This role involves confronting threats like rogue psychics, magical girls, and inter-dimensional entities while maintaining his office job.

In the fantasy world, he navigates political intrigue and war in the Herz Kingdom, supporting allies like Count Müller and Prince Adonis. He saves Müller's life, earns Elsa's trust after she accidentally travels to his world, and aids the kingdom against military threats. His relationships are defined by loyalty and pragmatism: he deeply respects Peeps while restraining urges to dote on him; trusts Müller but remains guarded during political schemes; and tolerates Futarishizuka's teasing despite distrusting her motives, leading Peeps to curse her as a precaution.

Across all situations, his development involves balancing dual identities—salaryman and interdimensional agent—while confronting escalating conflicts in both worlds, from corporate drudgery and psychic conspiracies to magical warfare and supernatural invasions.
