Description
Marlefiss is a nun affiliated with the Polan Church and served as the healer for the renowned adventuring party known as Flaming Dragon Fang. She is a young woman with blonde hair and light blue eyes, and she has a pronounced fear of darkness. Despite her clerical role, her personality is far from devout: she is arrogant, selfish, and fond of luxury, often neglecting her required payments to the church. She relied on Kurt Rockhans, the party's former errand boy, to quietly cover those debts for her. Marlefiss was one of the members who vocally supported dismissing Kurt from the party, believing him to be incompetent and a burden. However, after his departure, she discovered that her healing powers had become noticeably weaker without his presence, which led her to regret her decision. Following the dissolution of Flaming Dragon Fang, Marlefiss was recalled by the church and subsequently excommunicated. While in a vulnerable state, she was placed under a curse and forced to participate in a plot to assassinate Princess Liselotte. Kurt, now the unwitting Atelier Master, intervened during the assassination attempt and, through a misunderstanding of the situation, stopped the plan. He unintentionally broke the curse on Marlefiss by feeding her rice porridge, which had restorative properties. After being saved, she was taken in by the skilled Atelier Master Ophilia for protection. Marlefiss's primary ability is healing magic, though its effectiveness seems to have been augmented by Kurt’s supportive presence during their time in the same party. Her role in the story shifts from a dismissive former ally to a cursed pawn in a larger conspiracy, eventually becoming someone saved and shown mercy by the person she once cast out.
