Description
Kaho Koyanagi is a prominent character who serves as a key member of the main friend group in her school. She stands at 153cm tall, has B blood type, and celebrates her birthday on April 10th. Known as the group's mascot, she gives off a distinct younger sister vibe and is beloved by nearly everyone on campus regardless of gender for her infectious and lively personality. Her role in the story is deeply intertwined with the protagonist, Renako Amaori, whom she knew from elementary school when they attended a cram school together. At that time, Kaho was a very different person; she was quiet, gloomy, and extremely shy, going by the surname Minaguchi before her parents divorced. She has since reinvented herself into the energetic and outgoing figure seen in the present.

Her personality is characterized by an overwhelming cheerfulness and straightforward honesty. She is often described as a mood maker who can control the atmosphere of a room and is rarely seen without her signature yellow hair accessories. This specific color choice is a deliberate homage to her admiration for her friend, Mai Ouzuka, as it matches Mai's blonde hair. Kaho is an open and devoted fan of Mai, which is common knowledge at the school, and it is rumored that she confessed her feelings to Mai shortly after enrolling.

Beneath her seemingly airheaded and bubbly surface, Kaho is surprisingly perceptive. She has a keen intuition and is often the first to notice subtle emotional shifts and tensions between other members of the group, particularly between Renako and Mai. She also defies the stereotype of the "dumb" mascot character by being quite academically intelligent, having once ranked ninth in the grade-wide exams. Kaho is also extensively knowledgeable about hypnotic suggestions and psychological self-conditioning, a skill she uses to create audio recordings designed to alter behavior.

This expertise stems directly from her own past. Kaho methodically constructed her current "sunny" persona as a means of escaping her previous, painfully introverted self. Her bright personality functions as a kind of role she plays, reinforced by self-hypnosis. A specific physical trigger, her contact lenses, is tied to this persona; removing them causes her to revert to her original, insecure disposition. Consequently, she finds deep meaning in cosplay, viewing it not just as a hobby but as a powerful tool for identity exploration and self-improvement. She is a well-known cosplayer who enthusiastically pushes Renako to participate in cosplay activities, believing that adopting a different character can help build confidence, just as it did for her.

While she is devoted to Mai, Kaho also develops complex feelings towards Renako as their friendship deepens again. When Renako first re-encounters her, she does not recognize Kaho due to her complete transformation, a situation that causes Kaho significant anxiety, to the point where she reacts defensively when her past identity is discovered. Her primary motivation is maintaining the happiness and equilibrium of her social circle, though her actions are also driven by a desire to protect her carefully constructed new identity. Through her interactions with Renako and her love of cosplay, Kaho confronts the divide between her outward persona and her inner self.
