Description
Jonas is a thirty-three-year-old male crew member aboard the interstellar ship D.Q.O., of which he is the owner and self-proclaimed captain. His place of origin is Earth, and he is recognizable by his preference for wearing old-fashioned clothing, a style that contributes to his enigmatic presence. His full name is Esteban Jonas.

Jonas is defined by a deeply contradictory nature. He possesses an eccentric and unpredictable personality, often speaking in long, poetic, and highly abstract sentences that resemble aphorisms but frequently lack clear meaning. This behavior leads many other characters to view him as strange or incoherent, and he is often described as a wild card or a chaotic presence during discussions. However, this peculiar demeanor is a result of a specific past incident: Jonas was once a hero of the space exploration era approximately one thousand years ago, but due to imperfect cryosleep technology, he suffered irreversible brain damage during the freezing and thawing process. Consequently, while his original abilities remain exceptionally high, he is largely unable to utilize them effectively, leading the ship's AI, Raqio, and others to regard him as a "has-been" or a "weirdo".

Despite his cognitive state, Jonas retains some remarkable capabilities. His overall statistics are among the highest of any crew member, second only to one other, with exceptional ratings in areas like Performance, Stealth, Charisma, and Logic. In practice, this means that when he is assigned to a logical role such as Engineer, he can perform scans and produce reports that are almost flawless in their logic. Conversely, when he is on the side of the Gnosia, his high stats make him a difficult opponent to catch in a lie. However, his chaotic nature undermines this potential; he is famously the only character who will willfully vote for someone he has logically deduced is human, making his actions seem random and frequently sabotaging his own team's efforts, whether human or Gnosia. This inconsistency is not a programming error but is considered a core aspect of his character.

Jonas has two key relationships that reveal different facets of his personality. He harbors an intense and worshipful obsession with the character Kukrushka, whom he praises as a "sacred miracle doll" or the finest creation in the universe. He also keeps Stella close, seemingly under the delusion that she is a combat maid sent by the government to monitor him, though he also treats her with a degree of fondness. He shares a unique bond with Shigemichi, having spent nearly one hundred years as a recluse playing retro games, a pastime that made him a master rival to the professional gamer. This backstory is revealed during a special event where the two challenge each other in a game, with the winner being so overcome with joy that they accidentally reveal their true faction.

In the story, Jonas functions as both a tragic figure and a source of chaos. The narrative events reveal his past glory as a legendary pioneer and the sad reality of his present condition, which requires Stella's support for basic functioning. On the ship, the development of his character involves uncovering his full history through specific, difficult-to-achieve events, including learning about his time on the legendary spaceship Argo, his ownership of the current vessel, and the true nature of his worship of Kukrushka. His primary motivation is never explicitly stated, as his damaged cognition means he does not pursue a logical agenda, simply reacting and speaking according to his fractured perception of reality. His role is ultimately that of an unpredictable factor in the social deduction games, a once-great mind now operating on a whimsical and often nonsensical logic that can either lead his crew to a sudden victory or a bewildering defeat.
