Description
Pina is a World Tree spirit in the story, one of nine beings who came into existence when the nine World Trees of the world each formed a spirit core, making her the living will of the World Tree she protects. She is the second World Tree spirit that the protagonist, Ein, encounters during his journey, and she appears as a young girl with pink eyes and short, shoulder-length pink hair.
Pina's personality is defined by playfulness and mischief. She is a cheeky girl who loves tricks, and her first meeting with Ein is marked by a string of pranks, as she uses illusions to hide traps throughout the dungeon and torment the newcomer. Even after she begins traveling alongside Ein and the other World Tree spirits, she keeps her teasing nature, frequently poking fun at the relationships among Ein, Yuri, and Alice. Beneath this bratty exterior, however, she genuinely cares for her fellow spirits and thinks of them as sisters, and she actively works to help Ein and Yuri's relationship progress smoothly.
Her role in the story is that of a companion and supporter of Ein's party, contributing a versatile form of illusion magic. Her abilities allow her to conceal traps with illusions, conjure lifelike images of powerful monsters, including S-rank threats, and manipulate the senses, such as making people feel intense heat when the air is cool. These powers also have practical battlefield applications, as when her illusions were used to trick enemies into believing hostages were present so that captured allies could be rescued.
Pina's most significant bond among the guardians is with the Black Princess, a quiet and seemingly gentle girl who is the daughter of Genbu, one of the four gods of creation, and who serves as Pina's appointed protector. As a World Tree spirit, Pina's underlying motivation is to safeguard her World Tree and the dungeon that shelters it, alongside loyalty to her sisters. Over the course of the story, she develops from a mischievous spirit who tests intruders into a loyal and reliable ally to Ein and his companions, while retaining the playful and good-natured temperament that remains central to her character.
