TV Special
Description
Misella is the heroine of Tales of Crestoria: The Wake of Sin. She is a young orphan who was taken in off the streets by Cody Hjuger and raised in the shelter in Dalchia. Over time, she develops strong feelings for his son, Kanata Hjuger. She admires Kanata’s purity and innocence, viewing him as her one beacon of hope. While on the outside she appears to be an innocent girl, she actually admires Kanata and his virtues to the point of growing violent when it comes to anyone threatening him, his wellbeing, and his ideals. Despite having the strength to never lose herself, she will do absolutely everything in her power if it ensures Kanata’s safety. She bears hostility toward Vicious, who appears to be leading Kanata toward evil ways.
Her motivation stems from a desire to protect Kanata and his virtue. She states that she walked in the darkness for too long and does not want that for Kanata. If it means protecting the virtue of the man who showed her the light, she will bear whatever sin she must. Her crime is an attempt to save a person important to her, and this sin marks the beginning of her journey with Kanata. In the short animated TV special that depicts the prologue of the main story, she and Kanata set off on a perilous journey together, abandoning their previous lives. Her role in the story is that of the steadfast companion and protector, willing to shoulder any burden for Kanata’s sake.
Key relationships include her deep devotion to Kanata, her hostility toward Vicious, and her gratitude toward Cody, who took her in. Her development progresses from a dependent orphan to a determined individual who actively chooses to bear sin rather than let Kanata face darkness alone. Notable abilities are not explicitly detailed in the prologue special, but her resolve and willingness to take on sin for another are central to her character. She is portrayed as strong-minded and capable of violence when provoked, though her primary strength lies in her unwavering loyalty and determination.
