Yui Ishikawa is a Japanese actress and voice actress born on May 30, 1989, in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the agency mitt management. Her path to voice acting began with training in the performing arts from a young age; at six years old, she joined the Himawari Theatre Group in Osaka, where she gained experience as a stage actress, performing in musicals and developing skills in classical ballet, jazz dance, and tap dance. She made her debut as an anime voice actress in 2007 with a role in the series Heroic Age.
Ishikawa's career is marked by several iconic and critically acclaimed performances. Her portrayal of Mikasa Ackerman in the globally popular Attack on Titan anime series, beginning in 2013, stands as one of her most significant and enduring roles. This performance brought her widespread recognition and contributed to her winning the Best Supporting Actress award at the 8th Seiyu Awards in 2014. Another landmark role came when she was cast as the titular character in Violet Evergarden, a performance that showcased her ability to convey deep emotion and earned her the Best Lead Actress award at the 15th Seiyu Awards in 2021.
