Description
Yutika hails from Shahalta, a secluded European city-state perched high in the mountains, its elevation and isolation creating an illusion of floating in the sky. Shahalta transitioned from a monarchy to a republic, making its royal treasures targets for theft. Initially appearing as a sky pirate attacking an airship exhibition of Shahalta's national treasures to reclaim them, Yutika's background reveals she is the daughter of Jiva and Camilla, Shahaltan Royal Guard members dedicated to protecting the royal lineage and its secrets. After her parents died during Shahalta's political upheavals, the sky pirate captain Shion Adel Viccolobute raised her, keeping her unaware of her true heritage.
Yutika's journey centers on discovering she is Shahalta's hidden princess, the monarchy's sole surviving heir. This revelation occurs amid her conflict with the corrupt minister Kochel van Stenwald, who orchestrated the coup overthrowing the monarchy and targeting the royal family. Her motivation evolves from piratical looting to reclaiming her birthright and protecting Shahalta's legacy, especially after learning the royal treasures hold proof of her lineage and access to advanced technology vital to the city-state's sovereignty. Her development includes forming an uneasy alliance with Lupin III and his gang after initial antagonism, recognizing their combined efforts are necessary to defeat Kochel and his hypnotist enforcer Viler.
Yutika exhibits determination and combat proficiency, frequently engaging in physical confrontations using aerial acrobatics and tactical skills honed from her sky pirate upbringing. She demonstrates strong emotional ties to Shahalta's history, often invoking the Royal Guard's creed: "For the sake of your homeland, for the sake of your pride, spread your white wings and take flight! Darcel!" Her relationship with the infant Ramu, whom Lupin and Jigen temporarily care for after a heist, becomes significant. Ramu inadvertently swallows a gemstone key to the royal treasure vault, making his protection crucial. Though initially pragmatic about using the child to access the vault, Yutika gradually displays protectiveness toward him, reflecting her underlying sense of duty.
Her role concludes with the exposure of Kochel's treachery and the restoration of Shahalta's autonomy. Yutika assumes her position as the rightful heir, symbolically reclaiming the monarchy's legacy without reinstating it, aligning with the city-state's republican transition. Her story is confined to this television special.
