Description
Unika hails from an alternate dark future where Nerville Hammer's anti-Gear virus infected Dizzy, igniting the global Second Crusade. She hatched from an egg laid by Dizzy just before Dizzy's demise, leaving her unaware of her true origins. Nerville discovered and adopted her, exploiting her half-Gear biology for his own modifications while manipulating her into believing Gears were humanity's enemy. Using Axl Low's time-manipulation abilities, Nerville dispatched her to the past to eliminate Gears and prevent the Second Crusade, leveraging her foreknowledge to gain immense wealth and influence.
Physically, Unika possesses short black hair with blue streaks and crimson eyes concealed behind light gray, cat-eared goggles. Her attire features a sleeveless white turtleneck marked "T.E.O.C," an orange jacket with brown shoulder straps, an oversized blue coat, black shorts, thigh-high socks, and boots. In combat, her "Weapons Free" mode manifests elongated, glowing blue hair and a salamander-like tail reminiscent of her mother Dizzy. She wields a blue-and-white weapon combining aspects of Sol Badguy's Junkyard Dog and her timeline's Ky Kiske's Thunderseal, functioning as both a melee weapon and a rail gun. This weapon transforms into a hovering motorcycle augmented by magical constructs for mobility.
Driven by intense hostility toward Gears, Unika disrupted Ky Kiske and Dizzy's wedding at Illyria Castle, aiming to provoke Dizzy into a rampage. She publicly declared her intent to eradicate Gears, attacked political events, and stole access keys to activate anti-Gear weaponry. These actions led to confrontations with Sol Badguy, Sin Kiske, Bridget, and others. During clashes with Sin, shared visions revealed their familial connection—Unika is the biological daughter of Ky and Dizzy, making her Sin's sister. These encounters, coupled with conversations with Bridget about identity and redemption and Bridget tending to her injuries, began eroding her convictions about Nerville's mission.
A pivotal shift occurred when Nerville infected Sin with the anti-Gear virus, forcing him to command all Gears to die. Learning from Nerville that she was a half-Gear, Unika instinctively issued a counter-command for Gears to live. The conflicting commands destabilized the virus, triggering global Gear rampages. Witnessing Bridget critically injured by Nerville's clones solidified Unika's resolve to atone. She sacrificed herself to amplify an anti-Gear weapon's blast, piercing a multidimensional barrier threatening Earth. Though captured by interdimensional entities, she was later rescued. Post-conflict, she declined to live with her family in Vialattea, instead joining the United States Secret Service as a Presidential Bodyguard Trainee. Under supervision and magical tracking, she now undertakes missions to prevent futures like her own, embracing her role as a protector.
