Description
Flower Hat, known in Japanese as Hanabōshi, serves as the Chief Investigator of the Adventurer Guilds Research Department. Her primary responsibilities include the study of monster ecology, mapping their distribution, and conducting geographical surveys. She is depicted as a young woman with a youthful, almost girlish appearance, characterized by her light yellowish-green hair styled into two long braids. Her most distinguishing feature is an elegant hat decorated with flowers, from which she derives her name.

Personality-wise, Flower Hat is known for her leisurely and somewhat playful demeanor. She often operates at her own pace, which can give others an impression of her being relaxed or even carefree. However, this exterior masks an intensely curious and inquisitive nature. She possesses a powerful thirst for knowledge and can become completely absorbed when confronted with new information, at times forgetting her surroundings in her excitement. Despite her gentle appearance, she has a pragmatic and resolute side. Flower Hat is not afraid to employ unconventional or morally questionable methods if they serve the greater good, showing a cold and calculating willingness to do whatever it takes to achieve her objectives. Her actions are consistently guided by a strong sense of justice and a desire to protect the general populace, though she approaches problems with a flexible and analytical mind rather than rigid ideology.

Flower Hat is one of the few individuals within the upper echelons of the Adventurer Guild who is aware of the true secrets and plans of a character known as the Saint. Her motivations are driven by a dual desire to uncover the truth behind looming threats and to protect the people from disasters, such as those caused by the Malignant Dragon. She is not aligned with the Saint's faction but acts independently from the guilds standpoint to counteract the damage caused by conspiracies. Her role in the story often involves investigating major incidents, using her unique skills to uncover hidden connections and move pieces into place from behind the scenes. Rather than simply confronting threats directly, she prefers to gather allies and information, demonstrating strategic thinking in her efforts to resolve crises.

In terms of relationships, Flower Hat works closely with the Adventurer Guild but is not afraid to act outside its direct protocols. During her investigations, she seeks cooperation from individuals who were previously considered targets or obstacles. Notably, she approaches both Lena Floria and Dratena Belbury to request their collaboration for the sake of the larger mission, and at times places them under her personal protection. She is also implied to have a former teacher or master, whom she seeks out to gain deeper insight into the Saints true intentions. She is perceptive enough to connect the schemes of the Saint to major incidents, such as the upheaval caused by Ayla Lawrence in the city of Athene.

Flower Hats most notable ability is a unique skill called Book Gazing. This skill allows her to read any information written on paper, from any distance, as long as she knows the location of the document. When activated, an image of a magnifying glass and an eye appears on her left palm. While this skill is invaluable for reconnaissance and investigation, it also has potent combat applications. By reading from forbidden grimoires, she can unlock powerful secret arts known collectively as Grimo Magia, or the Secret Arts of the Forbidden Tomes. When using this ability, multiple magical books appear floating around her. Specific techniques she has demonstrated include the First Chapter of the Book of Ice, called Glut of Coldness or Ice Flower, which instantly freezes a target. From the Book of Destruction, she uses the Third Chapter known as Stone Play, which causes countless boulders to rain down on an enemy. Another ability is the Fifth Chapter of the Book of Spheres, known as Birdcage, which entraps a target in an inescapable, luminous cubic prison. Through this combination of investigative and combat skills, Flower Hat establishes herself as a formidable and resourceful figure.
