Description
Curuni Crueciel is a prominent character in the story, recognized as a cheerful and energetic young knight serving in the Liberion Order of Knights. She is one of the many former students of the protagonist, Beryl Gardinant, having trained at his dojo in her youth before advancing to her position in the capital's knightly order.

Physically, Curuni is notable for her small and petite stature, which is short even for a woman and gives her a youthful appearance. This childlike face and small frame, however, belie a surprisingly athletic build and remarkable physical strength that often catches opponents off guard. Her long blonde hair is usually tied up on top of her head with a large, colorful ribbon, and she has green eyes.

In terms of personality, Curuni is defined by her vibrant, positive, and radiant attitude. She is known for her ability to lift the spirits of those around her, bringing an energetic and friendly atmosphere to the knightly order. Her sociable and loyal nature makes her well-liked among her peers, and she has a habit of punctuating her speech with a familiar and friendly verbal tic. Despite her cute and playful demeanor, she is exceptionally brave, tenacious, and shows a high tolerance for pain and fear in the heat of battle.

Curuni's background as a disciple of Beryl is central to her development as a swordswoman. While attending his dojo, she initially trained with a short sword. However, she eventually hit a wall in her progress due to the disadvantage of her short reach; taller opponents could easily keep her at a distance. To help her overcome this, her mentor Beryl suggested a drastic change in her fighting style. Following his guidance, she abandoned the short sword and adopted a zweihander, a massive two-handed greatsword nearly as long as she is tall. This change allowed her to leverage her deceptive strength and compensate for her lack of height, developing a hybrid style that combines the long reach of the blade with close-quarters techniques using the hilt. Her physical prowess is such that she is considered the second strongest member of the order in terms of raw power, surpassed only by her fellow disciple and vice-commander, Henbritz Drought.

Throughout the story, Curuni serves as one of Beryl's most loyal and notable former students. She is part of the group of powerful disciples who reunite with their old instructor upon his arrival in the capital, where he has been appointed as a special instructor for the knights. Her role often involves being a key combatant in the order's fights. In one significant confrontation, she engaged in a fierce duel with a mercenary named Robary from a hostile sect. During this fight, she suffered a grievous, poisoned wound to her leg but refused to surrender. She pushed the battle to an extremely close range, where her power was most advantageous, and ultimately secured victory by using a spinning slash technique to cut off her opponent's arm, even managing to negotiate for an antidote despite her injuries.

Curuni's development is intrinsically linked to her relationship with Beryl Gardinant, whom she views as her master and primary source of inspiration. Her journey from a struggling short-sword user to a powerful greatsword wielder under his tutelage is a key part of her growth. She maintains close and friendly relationships with her fellow disciples, including Allucia Citrus and Ficelle Harbeller, and is a well-loved and integral member of the knightly order. Notably, it is mentioned that she is one of the few disciples who never formally graduated from Beryl's dojo, meaning she still has much to learn from him, which keeps her actively engaged in his tutelage even as an adult.
