Description
Azir Anuma Kukuja is the young lord of the prosperous mining city of Kukuja. He is a human male who becomes a significant figure as the story progresses, initially positioned as an antagonist driven by a tragic past and a deep-seated desire for a specific kind of peace.

Azir is the son of Beluga, the former ruler of Kukuja. Growing up near the Sunlight Forest, he shared a close childhood friendship and a romantic relationship with Raniya, the elf who is destined to become the next leader of the elven sanctuary. This idyllic period ended violently when a rebellion broke out among the human citizens of Kukuja. They felt disadvantaged by what they perceived as favoritism shown to the elves in mining work, and their repeated requests for change to the Tower of Mages were ignored. During this uprising, Azir witnessed the murder of his beloved father, an event that profoundly traumatized him and fundamentally altered his outlook on life.

In the wake of this tragedy, Azir inherited his father's title as lord. Grief-stricken and convinced that the fragile co-existence between humans and demi-humans was a failure, he developed a rigid ideology. He came to believe that true peace and equality could only be imposed through absolute, unyielding power. His motivations stem from this conviction, leading him on a quest to subjugate both humans and demi-humans under his rule, believing that only by becoming a dominant force can he prevent the chaos and suffering that claimed his father. This ideological shift puts him on a direct and painful collision course with Raniya, as their differing visions for the future tear their former intimacy apart.

Azir's role in the story is that of a powerful adversary whose conquest threatens the peace of the Sunlight Forest and other lands. He is a formidable fighter and strategist, not just a political leader. His quest for power leads him to collect Magic Seeds, which further enhance his abilities. A key moment in his antagonistic path is his confrontation with Raniya, whom he defeats to claim her transformation device, the Amen Bag-Buckle. By using this device himself, he gains the ability to transform into a powerful armored warrior called Amen, which he then uses to challenge the protagonist Togo Asagaki (Kizuna Red) and his party.

The most pivotal relationship in Azir's life is with Raniya. Their bond, which was once one of love and mutual respect, becomes a source of intense conflict and emotional turmoil as Azir’s methods become more extreme. Despite their rivalry, the depth of their past connection remains a key undercurrent in their interactions. Another critical relationship is with his butler, Vidan. While appearing as a loyal servant, Vidan secretly manipulates Azir, recognizing his pain and ambition to further his own sinister agenda. This deception ultimately makes Azir a pawn in a larger scheme, though he eventually breaks free from this manipulation.

Azir undergoes a significant development arc. He begins as a charismatic but morally ambiguous ruler, shaped by trauma, who believes the ends of absolute order justify the means of conquest. After a climactic battle where he fuses with a sandstorm, he is saved by the power of Kizuna Energy, a force embodying teamwork and bonds, which helps restore his human form. The Magic Seed that amplified his power is extracted from him. Although his actions are not without consequence, the elves, moved by his tragic history, choose reconciliation over further conflict. This marks the beginning of his redemption. He reconciles with Raniya, mends relations between Kukuja and the Sunlight Forest, and eventually joins forces with his former enemies. In the final battle against the true villain, Vidan, Azir stands alongside Raniya, transforming into Amen once more to fight for the peace he once tried to force upon the world.

Azir possesses a variety of notable abilities. He is a highly skilled combatant and also proficient in parkour. His unique form of magic is called Privilege Magic, specifically the spell Uas. By activating it, he can control sand, transmute non-living objects into sand particles, and reshape the desert terrain. His most powerful technique with this magic summons a giant sand construct that can freeze time for anyone caught within its influence. After losing his Mana Seed, he learned Rune Magic, a system typically used by elves. His primary power, however, comes from the Amen Bag-Buckle. Using this device, he transforms into Amen, a powerful armored form that grants him immense physical strength, with specific forms that enhance different combat parameters such as punching power or speed. As Amen, he can access various powerful attacks, including Spirit Coffin and Phalanx Overload. His hobby is collecting ancient books, and his family name, Kukuja, is an anagram of the Japanese word for peacock.
