Description
Pegasus, also known as Pegasus-chan, is a character in the 2025 computer-animated film Dream Animals: The Movie, which brings the animal-shaped biscuit characters of the Tabekko Dōbutsu brand to the screen. Unlike the core cast, who are based on the original biscuit designs, Pegasus is a character created specifically for the film, adding a mythical winged-horse figure to the group of animal characters. She belongs to the Dream Animals and appears as a member of the super idol group Tabekko Dōbutsu-tachi, taking part in a world tour concert that serves as the opening of the story. Her defining trait as a performer is her celebrated singing voice, often described as heavenly, and this talent is central to her role in the group's stage show.
The film takes place in Sweets Land, a world where sweets and humans live in harmony. Pegasus joins the Dream Animals on their world tour, and it is upon the group's return that the central conflict begins. The cotton candy villain King Gotton and his army have taken over Sweets Land as part of a plan to eliminate all sweets and seize control of the world. While the Dream Animals flee from his sticky cotton candy soldiers, Pegasus is caught and taken captive, and her capture becomes the central crisis of the story. The rest of the Dream Animals must find a way to rescue her and defeat King Gotton in order to save both their friend and their world.
Pegasus's place in the story centers on the others' reactions to her disappearance. Lion, who takes on the mission to rescue her, is initially discouraged by the seemingly impossible task, and it is advice from Elephant that gives him the courage to act. Her capture therefore drives the main characters forward and tests the bonds of their friendship, which are strained by the stress of being hunted by the cotton candy army. As a newcomer to the established group, her arrival expands the group's dynamic, and her role in the story is closely tied to the larger threat facing Sweets Land.
Her motivation is expressed mainly through the premise of the film: as a resident of Sweets Land, she is part of a peaceful world where sweets and humans coexist, and her rescue is tied to restoring that peace and stopping King Gotton's takeover. Her most notable ability is her exceptional singing voice, which defines her as an idol performer among the Dream Animals and gives her a prominent place in the group's identity. Beyond her musical talent and her significance to the rescue plot, the film presents her primarily through her connection to the group and her role in the struggle to protect their world.
