Description
An Natsue is a first-year high school student known for her striking bright orange hair and a fiercely competitive nature that defines much of her character. She stands at 161 centimeters tall and was born on July 21. Hailing from the city of Bibashō, she attended the Second Middle School before entering high school, where she is placed in class 1-2.

Her background is deeply rooted in broadcasting. During her middle school years, Natsue was an active and dedicated member of her school's broadcasting club, eventually rising to the position of vice-president in her third year. Her talent and drive were significant enough to lead her to participate in national competitions, an experience that solidified her ambition and honed her skills from a young age.

Natsue possesses a powerful and determined personality, driven by an intense desire to win and a deep-seated refusal to accept defeat. She is ambitious and disciplined, pushing herself through rigorous training to be the best. This seriousness extends to her personal standards; she has a strong aversion to anything she perceives as unfashionable or mediocre, and she is not one to engage in superficial friendships. Her competitive streak is a core part of her identity, making her a natural leader who holds herself and others to high expectations. While this can make her seem distant or stern, her character is also shaped by underlying insecurities and past disappointments.

Her primary motivation is the pursuit of excellence and victory in the field of broadcasting and announcing. This drive was partly forged through a complicated relationship with her childhood friend, Misaki Kumori. When Misaki achieved exceptional success in a reading competition during middle school, Natsue experienced a crisis of confidence that ultimately led her to pivot towards announcing, setting the stage for a long-standing rift between them. Her journey in the story is heavily influenced by a desire to overcome her past feelings of inferiority and prove her own abilities.

In the story, Natsue acts as both a rival and a catalyst for growth among the other members of the broadcasting club. Her arrival brings a new level of professionalism and intensity. Her most pivotal relationship is with Misaki Kumori, her estranged childhood friend. Their friendship became strained after Misaki's success, with Natsue harboring frustration over what she perceived as constant praise of Misaki's reciting abilities. This leads to a tense reunion, but the two eventually reconcile, with Natsue apologizing and making amends after finding a memento of their lost friendship. This reconciliation is a significant moment of growth for her.

Her relationship with the protagonist, Hana Haruyama, begins with skepticism. Natsue initially struggles to accept Hana, who joins the club purely out of a love for reading, finding her approach perhaps less serious or professional. However, she gradually begins to open up, seeing aspects of Hana that remind her of Misaki. In contrast, her relationship with Shuudai Touga from a rival middle school is defined by an intense and nearly hostile rivalry, as both share similar competitive backgrounds in broadcasting. She also develops an interest in Matsuyuki Akiyama, though his attention often seems focused on Hana.

Notable abilities include her strong technical skills as an announcer and reader, which have been refined through years of rigorous training and experience in competitions. Her background as a vice-president of her middle school broadcasting club has also equipped her with leadership qualities and the ability to perform well under pressure. Natsue's development is marked by learning to navigate her intense competitiveness and confront the personal grievances that have held her back, ultimately allowing her to rebuild an important friendship and grow as a person.
