Description
Kagari Shirube, also known as Princess Zeal, is a thirteen-year-old second-year middle school student and one of the central figures in her story. She is portrayed as a young woman of notable talent and poise, standing 163cm tall, with a birthday on August 8 that makes her a Leo. Her blood type is A, and she lives with her father, mother, and grandmother.

In her civilian life, Kagari presents a composed and approachable demeanor. She is a member of her school's library committee and is known for her kind, gentle, and reliable nature. While she seems like an ordinary student, she carries an air of quiet confidence, often watching over her peers with a sense of purpose. Off campus, she has a pronounced sweet tooth, showing visible enthusiasm for desserts, which contrasts with her otherwise refined image. She also enjoys watching B-movies in her spare time.

Kagari comes from a distinguished artistic family. Her mother is an internationally acclaimed opera singer, and her father is a professional dancer and choreographer. Although she inherited their extraordinary talents, she pursued performance on her own terms, developing a disciplined yet passion-driven approach to singing and dancing. This background has earned her the title of "Songstress of Alicepia," where she performs as a beloved idol, captivating audiences with her peerless skills. As Princess Zeal, her appearance shifts to reflect her fiery spirit. Her long pink hair deepens to a reddish-pink and is styled into ribbon-adorned pigtails. She wears a red leotard and skirt with off-the-shoulder sleeves, thigh-high red boots, gold accents, and a prominent back bow, with her red image color dominating her aesthetic.

As a character, Kagari embodies the role of an "Ego," displaying assertive self-assurance and a strong sense of self-awareness. She is described as a "diva" in her performances, commanding the stage with confidence, but she balances this with genuine kindness and maturity. She is a natural leader and mentor, largely because she is already an awakened Princess before the story begins, fighting in secret against mysterious monsters known as Jamaock. Unlike some "senpai" archetypes, she is never cold or dismissive; instead, she is immediately welcoming and responsible towards newcomers, helping them understand their duties without arrogance.

Her primary motivation is to protect Alicepia, a fantastical digital world, from the Jamaock who threaten to drain its luster. Initially, she fights these battles alone, having gained her power prior to the series' events. However, her role evolves significantly when she encounters Minamo Sorano. After witnessing Minamo awaken as Princess Ripple during a monster attack, Kagari intervenes to save her, subsequently revealing her own identity and explaining the mission of the Princesses. This event marks a turning point, moving Kagari from a solitary hero to a collaborative leader. She guides Minamo, helps her navigate her confusion, and soon after recognizes the potential in the impulsive Nagase Ichijo, recruiting her to become Princess Meteor and complete the core trio. Her development throughout the story emphasizes this transition from solo heroism to team-oriented leadership, often coordinating group tactics and encouraging synchronized efforts to amplify their power.

In battle, Kagari is a formidable fighter. She activates her powers using a "Song Fragment" trinket and a Jewel Bell. To transform into Princess Zeal, she declares her intent with the phrase, "I'll have you hear the rhythm of my passion!". Her signature ability is the "Zeal Rising Volcano," a devastating attack that unleashes a storm of flaming roses, capable of carving craters and igniting widespread fire. She debuts this technique against a knight-type Jamaock and continues to use it against powerful variants of the enemy.

Kagari's key relationships define her role in the narrative. She acts as the primary guide and source of support for Minamo Sorano, patiently explaining the threats of Alicepia and showing her the ropes of being a Princess. With Nagase Ichijo, she cultivates a supportive dynamic, tempering the newcomer's enthusiasm while helping her find her footing. She works closely with her guide, Naville, who detects enemy activity. While she is courteous to Minamo's best friend, Natsu Hinomoto, she remains slightly distant to protect the secret of her dual life. Through group activities such as karaoke sessions and dessert outings, Kagari helps strengthen the team's cohesion, solidifying her role not just as a powerful Princess, but as the steady heart of the group.
