Description
Flower Knight Sincere is the transformed identity of Sumire Kazahana, a third-year junior high school student who serves as a senior to the main protagonist Minamo and her friends. In her civilian life, Sumire is depicted as a tall girl with short dark violet hair, thick eyebrows, and grayish-blue eyes, often seen wearing red glasses while at school. Her image color is violet.
As Flower Knight Sincere, her appearance changes dramatically into a slimmer, doll-like form with silver ball joints, galactic dark blue skin, and a pointed white mask covering her upper face. This version lacks a discernible mouth and wears a large pale periwinkle witch hat adorned with stars and a white flower. She can also transform into Princess Viola, a more elaborate form with long light-colored hair, a white bodice with a blue tie, and a long light indigo skirt.
In terms of personality, Sumire is described as kind, graceful, and mature, though she can be reckless, particularly when another person's life is in danger. She is serious about her mission and prioritizes it above all else, knowing when to retreat and, as Flower Knight Sincere, focusing on gathering Musessence over fighting the princesses.
Her primary motivation stems from a deep desire to protect her younger sister, Lily Kazahana, from sorrow after the loss of a person named Thoma. The White Queen approached Lily after Thoma disappeared, explaining that the boy vanished because the growing music power exceeded its limits. To prevent such tragedies from happening again, the White Queen invited the sisters to become her knights, and Sumire accepted this role willingly, fully aware that she would be standing against the princesses. She serves the White Queen, who seeks to bring a tranquil peace to the land of Alicepia by using the Flower Knights to control and seal excess musical power.
Key relationships include her bond with her sister Lily, who serves as Flower Knight Purity, and her connection to the White Queen, her former master. She also has an acquaintance with Kagari Shirube, as both work on their school's library committee. Her relationship with the main princesses is initially antagonistic, as she appears as an opponent who blocks their attacks, steals Musessence and Song Fragments, and traps them in barrier fields.
Throughout the story, Flower Knight Sincere experiences significant development. Initially presented as a mysterious white knight who troubles the princesses with her elegant swordsmanship, her identity as Sumire Kazahana is eventually revealed. She and her sister serve the White Queen out of a sincere belief that they are preventing disasters caused by excessive music power. However, after confrontations with the princesses, particularly when Princess Ripple questions whether the sorrow from losing Thoma is all that remains for them, Sumire begins to reconsider her position. Eventually, she and Lily are purified by the princesses and no longer serve the White Queen, gaining new power to transform into princesses themselves, with Sumire becoming Viola Princess.
Notable abilities include her skill with a rapier, which glows crimson and can absorb Musessence from defeated Jammerwocks as well as utilize Song Fragments. She can create barrier fields to trap opponents and has the power to teleport or warp away from battles. Unlike the princesses, who sing to activate Song Fragments, Flower Knight Sincere uses the raw power of her blade without singing. Her fighting style is described as elegant and characterized by her ability to block powerful attacks such as the Princession Aura Ensemble.
