Calist serves as the leader and lead vocalist of Band Snatch, the primary antagonistic force in the series. He is a man of tall stature, standing at 180 centimeters, with distinct red eyes and chin-length red hair. His typical attire consists of a suit, boots, and a cravat, and he is noted for wearing high heels. He often appears with a calm demeanor that can be unsettling, as there is a sense of mystery about him that makes it difficult to see his true intentions.

As the leader, Calist is responsible for coordinating the actions of his bandmates, Bess, Gita, and Drun. His role in the story is to command the Jammerwocks, monstrous creatures that terrorize the world of Alicepia, in order to steal Musessence from the visiting girls known as the Princesses. Calist views this mission with a sense of purpose, believing that defeating the Princesses is what gives his group its reason for being. He is capable of using his singing to create powerful sonic waves as a form of attack.

Despite his role as a villain, Calist is not without a more complex side. In one instance, he helps a young saxophonist named Saki Somoto who is struggling with her performance, offering her advice before they part ways, which suggests a capacity for kindness. He is focused on his mission to gather stronger and greater amounts of Musessence for the Red Queen, whom Band Snatch serves. This devotion stems from the fact that he and his fellow band members were originally ordinary citizens of Alicepia before being granted powers and human forms to serve the queen's plan to save their world. Later in the storyline, Band Snatch is revived with enhanced strength, and Calist ultimately leads his group to turn against a new enemy named Naviyu, joining forces with the Princesses out of continued loyalty to the Red Queen.
