Mou Ki, the second son of Qin's Great General Mou Bu and grandson of the late Great General Mou Gou, is the younger brother of Mou Ten. Born into this prominent military lineage, he trained from an early age at Qin's Strategist Academy under Shou Hei Kun. There, he emerged as one of the top students of his generation alongside Ka Ryo Ten, matching her capabilities in tabletop simulations and demonstrating exceptional strategic aptitude. First introduced aiding the official Sai Taku during the Assassination Plot Arc, Mou Ki encountered Ka Ryo Ten upon her joining the academy. Skeptical of her motives, he suspected she might be a spy for the Shiyuu or Ryo Fui faction. Through perceptive deduction, he identified her gender, weapon of choice, and lack of ulterior motives, confirming her ignorance of the academy's political complexities. During the Battle of Bayou Arc, Mou Ki observed the conflict as a training exercise with other students. He witnessed his father overcome enemy strategies through sheer force, an event that visibly stunned him. His group encountered the Zhao strategist Ri Boku, whom Mou Ki initially mistrusted. Ri Boku later captured Mou Ki, Ka Ryo Ten, and their peers, releasing them after the battle concluded, citing his reluctance to harm defenseless individuals. Slated to join the Han Campaign for real battlefield experience, Mou Ki was deemed too young for combat by his grandfather, Mou Gou. He later managed affairs in the city of Bishi. An encounter with his brother, Mou Ten, revealed a miscommunication: Mou Ten had requested Mou Ki as the Hi Shin Unit's strategist, but Mou Ki's letter about his unavailability went unread, leading him to send a replacement instead. Mou Ki's first direct wartime experience came during the Coalition Invasion Arc at the Battle of Sai. Deployed by Shou Hei Kun alongside strategist Kai Oku and 100 vassals, he reinforced the city's defenses. Stationed in the headquarters, he contributed to tactical decisions and recognized the strategic advantage of wind conditions for archers—an insight previously noted only by Ri Boku and Ka Ryo Ten. He also observed the close relationship between King Ei Sei and the soldier Shin, as well as Shin's combat prowess. In later arcs, Mou Ki aided Shou Hei Kun in quelling the Kanyou uprising during the State of Ai Arc. By the Western Zhao Invasion Arc, his role expanded significantly as he co-led the tactical headquarters planning the Gyou campaign and briefed commanders on the palace grounds. Following Qin's victory, he conveyed his brother's gratitude to Shin for avenging their servant Ko Zen by killing Hou Ken. He later discussed Qin's future with Ka Ryo Ten. His prominence culminated in the War of the Three States Arc, where he served as Qin's head strategist and commanded the Qin headquarters during the Battle at Gecchi Plains. Physically, Mou Ki is a slight-statured young man with grey eyes and black hair typically worn in a ponytail. He dresses in blue and white clothing and wears a distinctive blue hat with a bobble. His personality is consistently calm and levelheaded, embodying the calculated mindset of a strategist. Stat evaluations from the Strategist Academy reflect his strengths: intelligence ratings between 90–91, leadership between 80–83, and strength at 80. While not frequently seen in direct combat, he fought alongside Shou Hei Kun during the Battle of Kanyou, indicating martial capability. His tactical expertise includes mastery of battlefield formations, military strategy, and rapid deductive analysis.
