Description
Niko Mikadono is the second daughter of the Mikadono family and one of the three female protagonists in the story. She is a second-year student in the athletic department at Saika Academy, where she serves as the president of the karate club. Born as the middle child, she is the smallest of the three sisters, standing at 150 centimeters tall, with orange hair and golden eyes. She is known throughout the school as a martial arts prodigy, especially in karate, having won tournaments domestically and internationally. Her physical abilities have been exceptional since childhood, and she maintains a strict training regimen that includes morning tile-breaking.

Niko presents a bold, energetic, and tough exterior. She speaks in a rough, no-nonsense manner and holds herself and others to high standards, taking both practice and academics seriously. Her robust and charismatic personality makes her a natural leader in the dojo, and her fellow club members rely on and respect her. Beneath this fierce facade, however, she harbors a shy and unexpectedly soft side. She secretly loves cute, pink, and frilly things—clothes, accessories, and other traditionally feminine items—but feels embarrassed to show this side of herself openly. With the help of the protagonist Yuu Ayase, she gradually becomes more comfortable sharing this vulnerable part of her personality, especially with her sisters.

Her motivation is rooted in her dedication to martial arts. She was raised by a results-oriented father who emphasized achievement, and she internalized that drive, striving to be the strongest. At the same time, she desires genuine connection and warmth, which she finds lacking in her family's emotionally distant dynamic. Over the course of the story, her role shifts from a cold, distant roommate to an increasingly affectionate and supportive presence. She develops romantic feelings for Yuu, who draws out her softer side through his clumsy but sincere efforts to care for the sisters.

Key relationships include her older sister Kazuki, a talented actress, and her younger sister Miwa, a shogi prodigy. The three sisters were initially estranged due to their single-minded pursuits, but living together with Yuu helps them grow closer. Niko also has a rivalry with Tatsumi Hayato, a top karateka from another school who tries to recruit her. Her development is marked by learning to balance her fierce ambition with emotional openness, and by coming to accept help and affection from others.

Notable abilities include her mastery of karate, which makes her a formidable fighter. She is a natural athlete with incredible strength and agility, but she struggles with academic subjects and delicate tasks that require fine motor control, such as housework. Her early-morning training, including breaking roof tiles, is a signature habit.
