Description
Shirou Ogami, a wolf beastman, originated in the Eastern European city of Nirvasyl approximately one thousand years ago, living as an ordinary citizen. Human forces led by General Raymond Sylvasta attacked the city, slaughtering its inhabitants. Mortally wounded during the purge, Shirou was discarded into a mass grave with around 2000 deceased beastmen. Contact with their blood catalyzed his transcendence, reviving him as the immortal Ginrou. This transformation granted divine powers and halted his aging, leaving him with the appearance of a young adult. It also imprinted within him the collective consciousness and memories of Nirvasyl's fallen.

Consumed by vengeance, Shirou pursued Raymond Sylvasta across battlefields, killing numerous human soldiers. Failing to locate the general, he recognized the spiritual emptiness of his quest and dedicated his existence to protecting beastmen globally. During World War II, he infiltrated a human research facility where beastmen were tortured and experimented upon for bioweapon development. There, he rescued the young Barbara Rose and Kuro. Witnessing the mutilated and hybridized subjects triggered uncontrollable rage, causing him to slaughter all personnel. Horrified by his capacity for violence, he suppressed his Ginrou form and sealed its full power, resolving to protect beastmen through mortal means.

Before Anima City's founding, Shirou traveled worldwide alongside Barbara (using the alias Natalia), aiding displaced and persecuted beastmen, documented in the prequel light novel *BNA - Zero: Beasts That Can't Become Even Better*, where he was also known as "Abiyad" (Arabic for "white"). After Anima City's establishment, he serves as a social worker at the Animal-human Consumer's Coop under Gem and Melissa Horner, Special Advisor to the Anima City Police, and Special Task Agent for Mayor Barbara Rose. His routine involves investigating threats to the city's stability.

Shirou exhibits a stoic, reserved, and fiercely self-reliant personality. He harbors profound distrust and hatred toward humans stemming from the Nirvasyl massacre and subsequent beastman atrocities. This animosity extends to beastmen he perceives as collaborators, whom he considers traitors deserving severe punishment, exemplified by shattering a rhino beastman's horn to strip him of racial pride. His greatest fear is witnessing beastmen suffer helplessly, particularly from Nirvasyl Syndrome—a stress-induced berserker condition he witnessed destroy his homeland. This trauma resurfaced during a Syndrome outbreak in Anima City, triggering a feral state where he nearly killed Michiru Kagemori.

His encounter with Michiru Kagemori, a human-turned-tanuki-beastman, initiated significant perspective shifts. Initially distrustful, he confined her upon discovering her human origins. However, observing her empathy and determination altered his worldview. Michiru's unique blood provided the cure for Nirvasyl Syndrome, resolving his deepest trauma. Her influence moderated his ruthlessness, culminating in his decision to spare Alan Sylvasta (Raymond's descendant) after their final battle, recognizing the emptiness of vengeance.

Shirou possesses abilities surpassing ordinary beastmen: enhanced strength (able to break horns and antlers barehanded), speed (bullet-dodging), durability (surviving high-impact falls), regeneration, and immortality. His transcendent physiology grants psychometry—extracting historical memories or sensations through scent. As Ginrou, he transforms into a luminescent cyan-white wolf with wing-like shoulder protrusions, exhibiting exponentially amplified power. He avoids this form unless absolutely necessary due to its destructive potential and personal trauma.

He maintains complex relationships: viewing Mayor Barbara Rose as a trusted long-term ally; tolerating Kuro as a subordinate; expressing immediate hostility toward Alan Sylvasta due to his lineage and agenda; and deeply distrusting Nazuna Hiwatashi for her role in the Silver Wolf Order cult, which exploited the Ginrou legend he inadvertently created.
