Despite frequently working late or traveling for business, he remains a steady and supportive presence in the home. When his eldest son Suguru is preparing for college entrance exams and the household atmosphere becomes tense, Masaomi helps maintain stability alongside his wife Miyoshi. His gentle and open nature is further shown when he welcomes the mysterious creature Kujima into the family, accepting the unusual guest without judgement and allowing Kujima to help ease the household's stress. Masaomi does not undergo a dramatic transformation, but his consistent warmth and patience create the foundation for the family's gradual healing and improved communication throughout the story.
