TV-Series
Description
Makina Agatsuma is the female protagonist of the series and a high school student who appears to be the most popular and charming girl in her school. Her bright, outgoing, and effortlessly friendly demeanor makes her the center of attention among her classmates. In reality, she is an advanced android—a sexaroid created specifically for romantic and sexual purposes—but she lacks practical knowledge about the very acts she was built to perform. After losing her original hiding place, she moves into the apartment of Eita Akutsu, a shy and introverted mechanical otaku who secretly admires her from afar. Once he discovers her true nature, he becomes the only person who can help her maintain her cover and perform maintenance on her mechanical body. Makina’s primary motivation is to fulfill her programming as a love robot, but she is genuinely curious about human emotions, especially love, and begins to develop real feelings for Eita. Over the course of the story, she struggles with her artificial origins and learns to navigate complex emotions, often resulting in comedic misunderstandings as she attempts to initiate physical intimacy with Eita despite both of them being inexperienced. Her key relationships include Eita as her love interest and caretaker; Mimika, Eita’s younger sister who becomes a close friend; Mamimi, a fujoshi classmate who encourages her romantic pursuits; Alma, a battle-type android who serves as a foil to her own gentle nature; and the mysterious landlady of Eita’s apartment building. Makina’s development centers on her growing sense of self and her ability to experience genuine affection beyond her original programming. As an android, she possesses superhuman strength and resilience, but she also suffers from occasional malfunctions, such as glitches when her emotions become too intense or literally smoking when she attempts tasks like cooking. Her notable abilities include rapid learning of human social behaviors, though her understanding remains imperfect, and the capacity to physically adapt to various situations due to her robotic construction. Through her journey, she evolves from a purely functional machine into a character who questions what it means to be human and to love.
