Description
Michiru Kusagakure is a kunoichi belonging to the Kusagakure clan, a secretive ninja village that enforces strict rules against desertion. She is introduced as one of the assassins dispatched to hunt down and eliminate Satoko Kusagakure, a fellow clan member who fled the village. In the anime adaptation, Michiru is an original character created specifically for the series, replacing a different pursuer from the source manga. She appears early in the story as a direct threat to Satoko, but she is quickly killed by Konoha Koga, the professional assassin who has taken Satoko under her protection.

In terms of appearance, Michiru is a petite young woman with light blue hair styled in twin tails and red eyes. She wears an elegant, lady-like kunoichi outfit and carries a chained sickle known as a kusarigama, which features an iron ball modeled after a bear. Despite her small stature, she possesses superhuman combat ability, capable of destroying building walls with her strikes. Her personal style is innocent, energetic, and lively, though this demeanor contrasts with her deadly mission.

Michiru’s primary motivation is loyalty to her clan’s directives. She follows orders to kill the defector Satoko without hesitation, showing a sense of duty as a ninja. Her role in the story is that of an early obstacle that demonstrates the constant danger Satoko faces from her former clan and establishes Konoha’s willingness to protect her new partner. Michiru has no significant character development, as her appearance is brief and ends in her death. Her defeat also underscores the ruthlessness of the assassin world and the fragility of ninja loyalties. In the manga continuity, her fate may differ, but the anime presents her as a straightforward antagonist whose encounter helps define the central relationship between Satoko and Konoha.

Notable abilities include proficiency with the kusarigama, enhanced physical strength, and typical ninja training in combat and stealth. However, her skill level is not enough to overcome Konoha’s experience as a top-tier assassin.
