TV-Series
Description
Fomalhaut is a male executive within the evil organization that serves as the antagonistic force in the story. He comes from a distinguished noble family and has a long-standing association with his colleague Mira, having known him since joining the organization.

Fomalhaut possesses a personality that is remarkably pure, passionate, and sincere. He is characterized by an almost absolute lack of malice or blemish, an innocence that is often highlighted by a sparkling aura said to emanate from his eyes. He is unfailingly open and friendly toward everyone in the organization, always encouraging his comrades to consult him about any problem and offering his support. However, this earnest and well-meaning nature is severely undercut by a total inability to read the mood or social cues. He is hopelessly oblivious, failing to recognize when someone is in a bad mood or wishes to be left alone, and his natural tendency to be physically familiar with others, including the magical girl Byakuya Mimori, unintentionally provokes extreme irritation from Mira.

Fomalhaut’s primary motivation is rooted in his loyalty and friendship toward Mira. He considers Mira a close friend and is eager to help him rehabilitate his reputation within the organization, which has suffered due to his chronic failure to defeat the magical girls. As such, his role in the story is to act as a well-meaning but gravely inconvenient helper. He is often assigned to assist Mira on his missions, a decision that may also serve as a form of surveillance by the evil king, who has grown suspicious of his strategist’s unusual behavior. While Fomalhaut believes he is being a supportive ally, his presence only complicates Mira’s secret efforts to spend time with the magical girl he has fallen for.

The key relationship in Fomalhaut’s orbit is the highly unbalanced one he shares with Mira. From Fomalhaut’s perspective, they are best friends and trusted colleagues. From Mira’s perspective, Fomalhaut is a persistent obstacle who is constantly in the way, and his interference causes Mira to harbor genuine murderous intent toward him. This dynamic is furthered by Fomalhaut’s peculiar canine-like habit of chasing after anything that moves. Mira frequently exploits this by pretending to throw a ball, sending Fomalhaut on a wild chase to the ends of the earth. Despite the deception, Fomalhaut never doubts or becomes angry, typically returning with some other round object instead of the nonexistent ball, much to Mira’s aggravation. Another notable relationship is with his colleague Sadalsudh, who considers Fomalhaut the most troublesome person in the organization due to his overwhelming and oblivious friendliness.

In terms of development, Fomalhaut shows no signs of changing his behavior; his entire function within the narrative is as a static, comedic element whose unwavering goodness and lack of self-awareness serve to exasperate the protagonist and heighten the central conflict of the story. Regarding his abilities, no specific powers are detailed in the source material. However, as an executive of the evil organization, it is implied that he possesses considerable strength and is an exceptionally capable pursuer, fueled by his compulsive need to chase moving objects.
