Description
Yoo Jinho is a Korean D-Rank Hunter who serves as the Vice-Guild Master of the Ahjin Guild. He is a young man with a boyish face, gray eyes, and custard-colored hair that is typically shaved on the sides of his head. Born as the second son of Yoo Myunghan, the wealthy CEO of the Yoojin Construction company, Jinho comes from a life of privilege but chooses to work as a hunter.
In terms of personality, Jinho is characterized by his loyal, genuine, and often naive nature, frequently serving as a source of comic relief. Despite his tendency to misinterpret situations in a humorous way, he is driven and has aspirations of proving his capabilities to his father. His loyalty is most prominently displayed in his relationship with Sung Jinwoo, whom he sees as an older brother figure. Jinho is known for two running gags: his habit of wearing very expensive but often impractical armor, and his complete inability to hold his liquor.
Jinho’s primary motivation is to gain recognition from his father and to lead the guild division of the family business. To achieve this, he dreams of becoming a guild master and eventually taking his father's place. His journey leads him to form his own guild with Sung Jinwoo instead of relying solely on his family's wealth.
In the story, Jinho’s role is that of a trusted ally and the strategic backbone of Jinwoo’s operations. He focuses on the management and administration of the Ahjin Guild, handling the business side of raids while Jinwoo focuses on combat. His value is not in battle strength but in his financial resources, organizational skills, and unwavering support. One of his most significant actions is formally requesting that his father allow him to take over the Yoojin Guild, a request that comes with the condition that Jinwoo become a member.
Key relationships define Jinho’s character arc. His bond with Sung Jinwoo is the most critical. While it began as a simple partnership during a raid with another group, after Jinwoo saved him, Jinho became his devoted follower and closest friend. Jinwoo eventually declares Jinho to be like a younger brother, solidifying their deep mutual trust. Jinho also has a cousin, Yoo Soohyun, whom he recommends for guild membership. He later develops a personal relationship with Jinwoo’s sister, Sung Jinah.
Throughout his development, Jinho grows from a somewhat inexperienced D-Rank hunter into a confident leader and manager. While he remains weak in combat compared to high-rank hunters, his endurance and bravery become evident. He demonstrates the ability to shield civilians from falling debris during crises and withstands torture, remaining conscious until help arrives. After the events of his hunting career, he chooses to forge his own path by founding a game company named Beautiful World, rather than taking over the family construction business.
Regarding notable abilities, as a D-Rank Tanker, Jinho specializes in defensive skills rather than offensive power. His combat style is described as clumsy, utilizing a sword and shield to inflict light elemental damage. His true strength lies in his resilience and durability. Specific abilities include charging with his shield to knock enemies back, stancing up to increase his defense, and creating potions that restore health during battle. His ultimate technique draws on his loyalty to Jinwoo to generate a powerful protective burst of energy. Ultimately, his most notable ability is not combat-related but lies in his exceptional talent for organization and management.
