TV-Series
Description
Cha Hae-In, also known by her Japanese name Shizuku Kōsaka, is a prominent character in the series. She is an S-rank hunter and serves as the vice-guild master of the Hunters Guild in South Korea. Before becoming a hunter, she was a promising track-and-field athlete whose sports career was cut short due to an ankle injury. Following the appearance of Gates, she awakened as the ninth S-rank hunter in the country and earned the nickname "The Dancer" for her swift, graceful fighting style.

Visually, she is a young woman with distinctive short hair and gray eyes, and she typically wears red armor while wielding a black sword in combat. Her personality is characterized by a serious and diligent nature, particularly regarding training and self-improvement. She is known to be a hard worker, even sacrificing her own rest time to patrol dungeons and ensure the safety of lower-ranked guild members. Despite her immense strength, she is modest and can be socially awkward, especially in everyday situations. She also becomes easily flustered in romantic contexts and has a shy side that contrasts with her fierce battlefield reputation.

Her primary motivation evolves from a general sense of duty and a desire to hone her skills to a more personal goal of standing beside and catching up to Sung Jinwoo, the series protagonist. She is deeply responsible and cares greatly about the safety of other hunters and civilians, often throwing herself into danger to protect them.

Her role in the story begins as one of the top figures in the Korean hunter community. She becomes intrigued by Sung Jinwoo after noticing a unique trait: she possesses a rare ability to perceive mana through smell. To her, most hunters have a foul, unpleasant odor due to their mana, but Jinwoo is the only exception, emanating a pleasant fragrance that immediately captures her attention and curiosity. This initial interest leads her to observe him closely, and she is present for several key events, including the A-rank Gate raid with High Orcs and the sparring matches between Korean and Japanese S-rank hunters.

Her relationships are central to her character. Her relationship with Sung Jinwoo is the most significant, developing from curiosity and intrigue into mutual respect, affection, and eventually marriage. She also maintains a respectful relationship with her kendo master, Song Chi-Yul, a lower-rank hunter whom she continues to admire and from whom she learned her foundational sword techniques. She works closely under Choi Jong-In, the master of the Hunters Guild. During the Jeju Island raid, she is the only Korean S-rank hunter able to remain standing against the formidable Ant King, though she is quickly struck down and nearly killed. Jinwoo arrives, defeats the Ant King, and ultimately saves her life, a turning point that deepens her feelings for him.

Hae-In undergoes significant development throughout the narrative. She starts as a strong, independent, and somewhat isolated top-tier hunter. Her encounter with Jinwoo gradually opens her up, and her near-death experience on Jeju Island solidifies her feelings and resolves her desire to be at his side. In later storylines, after becoming Jinwoo’s wife and the mother of their son Sung Suho, her power grows significantly, elevating her to a national-level hunter status, making her a key figure in much larger conflicts.

Her notable abilities stem from her S-rank status and specialization as a sword fighter. She is recognized as one of the strongest hunters in Korea, with combat skills that surpass her own guild master. Her signature technique is a flowing, dance-like sword style known for its speed and precision, which includes skills like Blade Dance and Sword of Light. Her unique mana-sensing ability, which manifests as a supernatural sense of smell, is a defining trait that sets her apart. She is also capable of offensive area-of-effect techniques such as the Quake of Provocation.
