Description
Banshou-oh is a legendary demon and a powerful land god of the sky who appears in the second part of the story. As a cloud katawara, he is an ancient being, having lived for hundreds of years. He is also known by the title of the King of All Phenomena or the Lord of the Skyscape, reflecting his dominion over nature itself.

For a long time, Banshou-oh lived a largely pointless and aimless existence. This changed when he witnessed a fierce battle between the characters Mudo and Senya. Captivated by the display of martial arts, he developed a deep and abiding love for combat and the pursuit of strong opponents. This newfound passion became the central driving force of his life, leading him to willingly allow himself to be captured by the antagonistic Tribe of Void. His decision to be captured was not born of weakness but was a calculated choice to fulfill his objective of finding worthy rivals to fight.

In the story, Banshou-oh serves as a significant adversary. The Tribe of Void deploys him under orders to crush their enemies. One of his most notable feats is using his immense strength to break a powerful spiritual barrier that was created by Jinka, showcasing his raw power. During the final battle at the Dangaisyuu Temple, he is a major obstacle that the protagonists must overcome.

His key relationships are primarily defined by combat. He is intensely interested in strong fighters like Senya and Mudo, viewing them as opponents worthy of his attention. He is not inherently malicious but rather a battle-seeking entity. His relationship with the Tribe of Void is one of convenience; he allows them to believe they control him, but in truth, he is using them to create scenarios where he can engage in thrilling fights.

Banshou-oh undergoes little emotional development, as his core personality is fixed on his love for martial arts. However, his role in the narrative is to be an overwhelming force of nature that tests the heroes. His true form is colossal, and he has the ability to regenerate from a single cloud molecule, making him extraordinarily difficult to destroy. Among his many powers are weather manipulation, elemental intangibility, duplication, and shapeshifting, including the ability to turn his cloud body into animals. A particularly dangerous skill is his power mimicry; after watching a technique or fighting style in use, he can copy and apply it himself, as demonstrated when he mimicked the styles of Senya and Mudo for his own clones. He is also highly resistant to mental interference, having pretended to be under the mind control of the Tribe of Void when it suited him.
