Description
Porek, also spelled Polek in some materials, is a supporting character in the anime Teogonia. He is the leader of the Little People, a small humanoid tribe called the Kororu in the series. Porek is an elder figure with white hair cut to about ear length, and his eyes are never shown, reflecting a significant part of his backstory: he was blinded at some point in the past. Despite losing his sight, he carries a divine blessing that allows him to perceive the light of spiritual power, letting him sense spiritual energy and magical forces in his surroundings even though he cannot see the world in a normal way.

His background is marked by displacement and loss. His tribe's original village was attacked and destroyed by the Pigmen, a hostile demi-human race also known as the Ogres. Driven from their homeland, Porek leads his surviving people in search of a safe place to settle. Their journey brings them to a caldera valley where the protagonist Kai has been honing his powers under the protection of the local land god. Kai allows the displaced Kororu tribe to make their home at the edge of the valley, and this arrangement gives Porek and his people a new refuge while forming a bond between the tribe and the young warrior.

As a tribal leader, Porek carries the heavy responsibility of protecting and providing for his people after the destruction of their home. His long life has made him battle-hardened, and he possesses extensive combat experience, making him a seasoned figure rather than a passive elder. His practical knowledge of survival, warfare, and the spiritual side of their world makes him a valuable ally and source of guidance. His blindness and his ability to see spiritual light through his blessing also give him a unique perspective, allowing him to perceive threats and powers that others might miss.

In the story, his role is that of an ally and community leader linked to Kai's activities in the valley. Through the encounter with Kai, Porek and his tribe become part of the broader network of people affected by the ongoing conflicts with the demi-human races, and his leadership helps secure a place for his people in a harsh and dangerous world. His relationship with Kai is built on mutual benefit and trust, with Porek offering the wisdom and experience of an elder while Kai provides the tribe with a chance to start over. His development centers on the survival and stability of his people, and his defining traits are resilience, experience in battle, and an unbroken dedication to the Kororu tribe he leads.
