Description
LoveGreen, often referred to as LG, is a supporting character in Call of the Night who serves as the devoted underling of the vampire Midori Kohakobe. His real name is never revealed, and he always introduces himself by his online handle. He is a hikikomori otaku who has withdrawn from society, believing he does not fit in, and spends nearly all his time inside his apartment. His appearance matches the stereotypical otaku image: he is overweight and wears glasses that frequently reflect light in a way that obscures his eyes.

LoveGreen met Midori at a game gathering roughly twenty years before the events of the story, and he eventually became her servant, acting as a vampire thrall. He supports her in daily life by keeping track of her history and providing her with extensive intelligence. Despite his self-imposed isolation, he is extremely loyal to Midori and dedicates his life to her service, though he sometimes prioritizes his own needs over hers. His personality blends otaku mannerisms—such as referring to himself with terms like “yours truly,” displaying a perverted streak, and eating ramen not for its taste but because he finds the act stimulating—with an unexpectedly polite and respectful demeanor toward visitors, especially those who arrive with Midori.

Within the story, LoveGreen operates as a behind-the-scenes helper for Midori, occasionally embarrassing her with his fan creations and quirky behavior. He is a hikikomori who rarely leaves his apartment and has never encountered other vampires besides Midori. While his direct role in the main plot is limited, his devotion and peculiar habits provide insight into the broader vampire society and Midori’s own history. The character does not undergo significant development over the course of the series, remaining a loyal, eccentric assistant throughout his appearances. His notable abilities are tied to his role as a thrall: he possesses a vast repository of information and uses his knowledge to aid Midori, but no supernatural powers beyond whatever minor enhancements come from his servitude to a vampire are explicitly shown.
