Description
Justice is a character from the anime ZENSHU. A former member of the legendary group known as the Nine Soldiers, Justice was once a celebrated hero and a figure deeply admired by his comrades, particularly Luke Braveheart, who looked up to him as an idol and a model of leadership. At some point prior to the main events of the story, Justice suffered a grievous and secret injury to his wings, which stripped him of his ability to fly. Unable to maintain his former glory and hiding the truth of his condition from his friends, he fell into a state of decline and chose to leave the battlefield, living a quiet and somewhat lonely existence in a run-down district.
In terms of personality, Justice is fundamentally a caring and gentle individual, especially when it comes to children. Despite the sorrow and hardship resulting from his lost abilities, he displays remarkable bravery and a strong sense of responsibility. He is selfless, often prioritizing the well-being of others above his own, and keeps his pain and weaknesses hidden so as not to burden those around him. This hidden strength and kindness make him a respected and beloved figure among his friends, who value his wisdom and warm-hearted nature.
Justice’s primary motivation shifts from the pursuit of glory to the quiet protection of others. After leaving the Nine Soldiers, he finds a new purpose in caring for orphans at Destiny Heartwarming’s orphanage, known as the Serval Cat House, where the children affectionately refer to him as Jas-chan. Despite his retirement, he proves he has not lost his heroic spirit. When a critical moment arrives, he overcomes his physical limitations and personal regret to return to the fray, driven by a desire to protect his old friends and the innocent.
Within the story’s progression, Justice serves as both a mentor figure and a catalyst for growth in other characters. His past departure from the Nine Soldiers created a rift between him and Luke, who harbored bitter feelings, unable to understand why his hero would abandon their cause. It is through the intervention of the protagonist, Natsuko Hirose, that Justice’s secret injury is revealed, leading to a reconciliation between him and Luke and clearing the air after a long period of estrangement. Justice also acts as a supportive advisor, being one of the first to notice Luke’s romantic feelings for Natsuko and offering him sincere advice about love and dating.
Justice’s most notable development occurs when he makes a decisive and painful return to action. In a critical battle against a powerful Void, despite the intense agony of his injured wings, he carries Natsuko and a heavy desk up a tower to create platforms for his allies. This act of incredible willpower and hidden strength allows the Nine Soldiers to turn the tide of battle and proves that he is still a hero at heart. Following this resurgence, he fully accepts his new life, dedicating himself to helping Destiny run the orphanage and becoming a paternal figure for the children. Ultimately, Justice makes the ultimate sacrifice, giving his life to protect Destiny and the children from a devastating Void attack. However, his story concludes on a positive note, as he is later brought back to life thanks to the restoration of the world’s story.
In terms of abilities, Justice is a dragon-man whose primary power was his capacity for flight. While his wings remain severely injured, limiting his ability to fly for long periods without great effort and pain, he retains immense physical strength and unyielding determination. Even in his diminished state, he proves capable of incredible feats of endurance and protection, relying on his bravery and resilience rather than his former aerial dominance to aid his companions in their darkest hours.
